What's new

ECigs in the TPD Voted Today and this is what happened!

Thats what im saying
lets get @Mawsley(he seems to know his way around the gob:):))and create something simple, minded and common.
we are all members of different forums, potv, ukv aaec and so on.
if we spread the word in a right way,im sure lot more people will actualy join.
we need to unite.Vendors,members,admins.
And we will win
polititians will not stand in the way of few million people

This is a great way to start :P https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/9122-1-000-000-to-help-save-e-cigs

700k all ready need 300k more to reach over a million :)

It has links for the EVFI as well... if vendors would put it on their websites, that would be GREAT :D

People keep setting up their individual forums/campaigning organisations and even a political party.

Out of 1.3million vapers in this country alone - only three people stood forward to stand on the body set up by Georgio to represent European vaping. This is compounded by the natural intransigence of anybody to ever do anything ever in the belief that someone else will take care of any problem.

They don't. Individuals achieve nothing, and single issue party running two candidates in staunch Tory wards will achieve nothing. Sending emails and Twitter bombs achieve nothing. Petitions achieve nothing.

Direct action is the only thing which achieves anything and requires effort.

If you look at the turnout at voting for any election (General/local/European/Union strike action) over half the people eligible to vote don't. People, in the main, are mindless sheep who take anything that shits their way and says thank you for it.

As members of this forum and as users of advanced devices, and knowledgeable about the subject, we represent a tiny minority of vapers. Out of this forum most will have done little or nothing with regards to lobbying.

As a way forward I don't see anyone being able to mobilise vapers. I think it will come down to a select few choosing to mount a fund-raising campaign in order to take legal action in the courts. Then those of us so inclined will hector all we can to raise those funds at a time when disposable income is limited.

I like Mark's positivity.

I feel a bit angry myself, and not really with the politicians who've done nothing more than politicians do.
Dave
i love you
in very wierd and unexplained way,i do
but you need some bollokin mister.
this is the attitude that will not change anything, and lots of vapers think that way.
thats why they(polititians, tobacco and pharma)will destroy us as a community.
sure,if we just give up on that, there would be a black market and whoever wants to vape, will still do.But is that what we want?and instead of you going like"mbaaaaa, nothing will change",just get off your lazy arse and create something for every vaper around the world.
also think of the publicity
imagine if you gonna be the person that changed the course of all this nonsence?youll be like a vaping god
virgins will sing songs about you in front of a fire place, using a panzer mod as a flute
(didnt mean to offend you in any way,Dave)

There's nothing you can do or say that'd cause me offence. Ever ;)

But I'm no Vaping Jesus.

I believe in war, I believe in direct action. I believe in having mass protests and bringing cities to a standstill. I believe in every fucking vaper getting off their arse and travelling to one single point in Europe and doing stuff by sitting in the road and vaping.

In the 80s/90s I worked with MAG on motorbike legislation and this is what we did. We travelled from across Europe to Brussels and Maastricht, over three years, and rode around the city in tens of thousands at 10mph. We brought Paris and London to gridlock.

And we won.

I don't see that in vaping, sorry I just don't. I see people who meekly hide in ignorance. Compare the number of posts made and read in the News section to the rest of the forum with that asking when the next clone is being released.

If they'd voted to ban imports from China today we might have seen something approaching idignation and a motivation to act. People simply don't accept there's much they can do.

I wonder how many visits to MEPs were made? Derek Clark, my MEP, was aware of the situation but he'd not been inundated with demands for action.

I think it's time for ECITA and ECCA to up their game. They are the two well-thought of bodies, I think they need to take a lead on this. Couple that with influential personalities like Dave Dorn and Clive Bates and you have a movement. I'm a background guy who'd do posters, attend a sit-down vapemeet outside Parliament and get arrested for swearing at a policeman...because that's what I do.

I'm sat here muttering voodoo curses at all the EU bureaucrats(pratts)that've guaranteed that smokers will die as they will never know about vaping.

I'm also annoyed at the accusations directed at POTV members for not doing anything to fight this injustice, how can a forum join together when lots are unable to travel, have MP's that don't even accept an appointment request and lots don't spend any time looking in the News section.

I would be very willing to participate in any direct actions,as I have FINALLY (after several months) got my car back on the road so NOW am able to journey to any meets, and I am quite prepared to be arrested for my beliefs(had a few enforced holidays years ago,and these days the prisons are so full we'd just get told to obey a curfew & wear an electronic tag to make sure we are obeying the curfew)

Todays ruling isn't worth the paper it was scribbled on,so fuck them all with a red hot poker!

Still just 7,927 signatures.

That is just over 0.006% of UK vapers.

Sign the fucking thing.

If you did something then I don't know why you'd be annoyed.

I didn't say all, I said the most. The majority of vapers did nothing. Not just POTV but UKV, AAEC, HEM, The Shed, The Pit, ECF - you name it, the bulk have not done anything. Out of those who have most will have retweeted something or copy-pasted an email which will have been ignored by the recipient.

If you want someone to get angry at, then go ahead and get angry at me if it makes you feel better, Chegs. But what I've written still holds true.

The measures foreseen in the new Directive will help to redirect tobacco trade to legal channels, and may also help Member States restore lost revenue.

Health is a value in its own right, and a healthy population is a key factor for economic growth. The reduction in tobacco consumption resulting from the new measures is calculated to translate into annual healthcare saving to the amount of €506 million.

an improved functioning of the internal market and a level playing field.

The new Directive should enter into force in May 2014. A transposition period of two years for Member States to bring national legislation into line with the revised Directive means that most of the new rules will apply in the first half of 2016.

All they were required to to was impose a fucking age restriction on e-cigs,not make so many rules that we may as well smoke as cigarettes will be more freely fucking available than an e-cig!
