Is a review not informative to people.? so wether the reviewer frequents the forum for me its neither here or there, i sometimes find that theres a bit of "forum policing" by some members, which is really why we have moderators.
Some members seem to be allowed to say whatever they wish yet others get pulled up by people, wheres the fairness in that
All i am saying is if its against forum rules let the Mods deal with it, calling people out for their opinion could be seen as a form of bullying especially if the user is not the type to take it on the chin or it's in a sarcatic manner. most of us may have been guilty as coming across as out of order so maybe we should all ignore opinions we don't like and just move on without fuelling the fire so to speak.
Sometimes things come across the wrong way no matter who writes it and seeing as its written not spoken it is harder in most cases to tell how it's meant ie in a helpful phrase or in a slightly abusive manner

I quite like vic's reviews tbh. I get it might not be for everyone but you can't please all the people all the time I guess. There certainly plenty of reviewers I can't stand, the easy answer to that is not to watch them. He does have a tendency to fall into the drama trap once in a while but he's not a bad sort really. I personally don't have a problem with him posting review links but I would agree that it would be nice if he got involved a little bit more once in a while, especially on the threads he starts. I can only imagine running a forum, YouTube reviews, live YouTube broadcasts, Facebook, twitter and everything else he may or may not have going on takes up a lot of his time, maybe that's why he doesn't hang around long enough to strike up a conversation with people. The problem is as I see it, if he comes on here and reads a load of negativity towards him, he probably won't want to stay and hang around anyway.

I didn't say it was my house, just raised a query with whose house it is, who voiced similar concerns and asked for opinions on what action he should take, whereupon I gave mine. It's up to him and OccultScientist what they would like to do, if anything.
If it was my house, I wouldn't have had to raise any concern, I'd just ban freeloaders. Hope that clears up any misunderstanding.

Just to add as well, I have seen a few of Vics videos where he has actively promoted POTV as a good place to get information and talk to like minded folk.

Im a new user to the forum, so not stepping out of my bound I hope here, but if reviews are been posted I as a new user would like to see interaction with the members by the reviewers by answering questions. I prefer word of mouth reviews like from the members here, as I feel more likely to listen to someone who has purchased the item rather than been sent it to review.

but is what he does not instructive? is he not one of the communities educaters?...... i know that when im thinking about buying new kit (normally a tank)i'll search the review forum for an opinion and hope to be educated in wicking methods performance etc. I find Vics stuff to be instructive and his opinions to be fairly balanced and I am generally glad hes on here. As I said earlier iyes i could trawl youtube for them but this is where I come for things vape related and its handy to have it all here in one place

Perhaps you're right. It is possible that Vic's prime motivation for posting absolutely nothing except his own videos is solely to educate and inform the vaping community. It's possible it may have absolutely nothing to do with trying to garner new subscriptions for his channel and views for his videos by fishing in the very large pool of PoTV members, to whom he offers no other form of support, help, advice, discussion or encouragement purely in the name of furthering his own interests. It's possible. Call me a cynic, but I think it highly unlikely.

To be honest. reviewers who have been sent things for review are the people I stray away from.

People who have gone out and brought a tank or mod and given a honest review from a consumer point of view are the reviewers I look for and POTV have some great members who do so.

But people like vic are only posting links to get more views which means more revenue which means more goods sent to him from company's. I know it's business but come on, if someone asks you a question then at least reply back to the person in respect of taking there time out and watching your video.

Maybe they should be treated more like vendors. I do think there is a difference between a youtube reviewer and a review of a product by a regular member. Is a youtube reviewer posting his video any different to a vendor posting about their juice?

. ... and this section does tend to get 'flooded' by the former..... i'm not sure that's a bad or a good thing, it just is what it is.

Maybe we just need a youtube videos section, and keep this section purely for members who want to give an opinion on something they bought?

I dunno, like I said before I don't care that much but there are probably solutions that don't involve kicking people off the forum.

The only thing is most if not all vendor members pay for the privilege, I can't see many "youtube reviewers" wanting to do that
