I wonder if the VPD Direct is the one I returned to them as they didn't have any more back in October. I suppose at £15 it might be worth a shot...

Seems it was only the silver ones the top was popping up on, mine has stayed inplace since tapping it back down and I think the one @John R got has ok after pushing top back down.
Could be from a bad run but looking online it seems a common issue with them.

mine only lasted 1 week before the top cap came off, so i got some original JB cold weld formula & smeared it on & tapped it back on with a rubber mallet & over 1 year later & its still on

Like @Mutley1 sasid, I also glued it down, never budged since. I've also got another grey one and a black one, neither needed molesting with glue and have been fine.

All in all I really rate the device as a no nonsense 21700 that's easy on the eye and performs well, even in TC.
