That is an absolute piece of shit. It's not a nice thing to go through at all. I've been through it twice (once working for a private company and once for a public body in the name of austerity) and it's tough mate it really is and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I found support in friends and family and the realisation that I couldn't do much to change the outcome as the process had already started. It sounds corny but what will be will be, prepare for the worst but hope for the best. I wish you well and hope that fortune is on your side.

I have been made redundant 3 times if you start to plan now you can make it through this crap. Mine where after 5 years, 10years and 15 years service I'm working on the 20 year stretch now[emoji23]. If it happens don't worry about staying at the new jobs. I moved about a lot until I found the right fit for me.

That’s rough! That’s the plan for me as I think another job in this industry will be hard to come by with the amount of redundancies from numerous companies

also, while I have been making amazing money, I haven’t really changed my lifestyle too much so the drop in wage going to an onshore job won’t hit too hard!
