As a relatively new vaper who managed to stop smoking overnight (2 packs a day for too many years) I am really worried about the effect this new legislation is going to have. The only way out of it is to vote to leave the EU! Brexit - does anyone else feel the same?

No.
The regulations will come in no matter if we are in or out. Actually, I think the big tobacco companies have the Tories in their back pockets, and the regulations would be even stricter if we didn't have Europe to restrain the Tories.

I am confused because I thought that these regs had been set by the EU. If we were not in the EU how could the new regulations be imposed?

nice.... blatantly telling someone their opinion is wrong, do tell all seeing greatness that your opinions are more valid than someone elses.

Also the part about the "tories", the TPD is a bare minimum implication, individual governments can impose stricter regulations as they see fit, I think we are getting a better deal than some other EU countries

I'll refrain from stating my view on this as it is not my place to do so as a foreign national, but the result of the referendum will have far more reaching consequences than just vaping. Using the prospect of TPD-less UK as means to justify Brexit is not a good idea in my view.

The op said "The only way out of it is to vote to leave the EU! Brexit"
Nothing else substantive.
This would only be true if there was no way to change EU laws.
Not saying it would be easy but it is not in the realms of impossibility

By the time UK decided to leave
It will be law and it will not just disappear.

It may or may not be easier to get the Uk to change the law than the EU but it is very likely that without a sustained lobbying campaign it will stand as is.

I have generally been avoiding these threads, getting involved in political debate on the forum just causes bad feeling between vapers.
I certainly rubbed you up the wrong way.

Yeah, these are EU regs. Do you really think the Tories and their friends in the tobacco industry would be more lax? Remember the tobacco companies pay millions to the Conservative Party in 'donations'.

We pay a fortune in tax on fags compared to most EU countries. I don't think ejuice will be different when they figure out how to do it.
