EU regulations coming soonv- Brexit - who feels the same

We pay a fortune in tax on fags compared to most EU countries. I don't think ejuice will be different when they figure out how to do it.

there is already talk of taxation coming from Brussels not the UK government

Oh dear I had no intention of getting into a political argument. I am only interested in how people think. I would certainly not base any decision to leave the EU on the TPD alone however some interesting points have been raised. I do agree with DMAN regarding a tax being imposed on Ejuice eventually!

The op said "The only way out of it is to vote to leave the EU! Brexit"
Nothing else substantive.
This would only be true if there was no way to change EU laws.
Not saying it would be easy but it is not in the realms of impossibility

By the time UK decided to leave
It will be law and it will not just disappear.

It may or may not be easier to get the Uk to change the law than the EU but it is very likely that without a sustained lobbying campaign it will stand as is.

I have generally been avoiding these threads, getting involved in political debate on the forum just causes bad feeling between vapers.
I certainly rubbed you up the wrong way.

nah, didn't rub me up the wrong way, the comment just seemed dismissive and abrupt, I do feel that these discussion seem to seperate rather than unite vapers though, #UnitedVapers

Yeah, but how much will the UK government charge? I used to buy all my fags and baccy from Europe because they were much cheaper due to the lower tax.

you would think that the government would realise the money saved in the NHS through the health benefits of vaping over smoking would outweigh the need to strangle an industry further with tax

Yes I agree with that completely - but when did any government look any further than the ends of their noses!

Quite right but I would have thought it would be sensible to unite rather than divide! We are as you say entitled to our own opinions.

???? thats what I said these conversations, seem to separate/divide rather than unite

ASH say the cost of smoking and everything related to it (healthcare, fires, lost work days, cheeky fag breaks, anything they can tag on to make it higher) is c£14 billion, but omits the reduction in benefits paid to those who die early. The TMA say tobacco tax revenue is c£12 billion, so the net cost of smoking seems to be c£2 billion.

My tinfoil hat says that the profit of tobacco companies (and therefore their shareholders), estimated at between £1.1 - £1.8 billion is more of a reason for the anti-vaping stance. Then there's big pharma who, it could be argued, are set to lose revenue from both (less effective than vaping) cessation aids and treatments for smoking related illness.

Vaping may cost the government too much. If everyone started living an extra 10 years, that's an extra10 years of pensions, 10 extra years of healthcare, etc.
