Fake Charger

Might've gotten lucky then, only thing on the wrapper itself is the barcode thingy and a big sticker stating the capacity. Might figure out how to cycle them on my big RC charger, to see if they actually have the stated capacity, if i can be bothered. Needless to say, that's the last time for me. I just recently got into vaping (to stop smoking) - and let me tell you as someone who just entered the hobby (or in my case, addiction-replacement), this is incredibly damaging to the entire industry. You constantly have to double and triple check everything you order, to see if you accidentally (or deliberately) have gotten something fake, it's tiresome.

yup .... things like batteries we are really just relying on the vendors because unless you have testing equipment then it's really not easy to know, sometimes the cells are genuine but they are pretending to be a different cell. When LG HG2 were hard to get, there were cheaper lower amp (but genuine) LG cells having HG2 wraps put on them, which is just as dangerous too.... when you think you have a 20A cell and it's actually an 8A cell. .... That's why this whole affair is inexcusable because the vendor is the last port of call before it gets to us. ... you need to be able to trust them.

I can say with relief now that if you type in next day batteries into the silk browser on the pretty common kindle it comes up with a with this thread down the page As the search result. So for safety sake keep this running for a while. This is not a dig at NDB but a huge safety net.

I have just heard about this on the vaping postman youtube channel. NDB should be handling this better but from what I have seen the owner doesn't like any criticism at all. He handles it by deleting any negative comments that potential customers might see and generally seems like a right c*nt. Luckily I have never bought from them I always bought from fogstar and its nice to know that reputable companies like www.18650.co.uk and www.fogstar.co.uk have offered the OP a free nitecore charger.

You are lucky you found the forum. Plenty of helpful Apes on here who can help with recommendations etc.
Cheers Jon

Oh i know, Fogstar was recommended here, that's why i got a set from there. Although, i have to figure out if i can use them anyway, figured out a bit too late that the description on the box mod states that they have to be "high discharge batteries" (don't have the box yet, still in transit, stupid holidays :( ), the ones i got are 20A. Apparently i should be looking at 25A. I'll figure that one out when i get the Charon. Anyway, i shouldn't have to jump through hoops etc to make sure that my house doesn't blow up (ie do research on all kinds of stuff) because i got a clone of sorts. Or even worse, have a constant lingering feeling of "hm, hope everything's alright" because i can't double check for certain items (like those VTC6s) if they're legit or fakes.

I usually don't get involved in anything. I keep myself to myself and fight my battles by offering the best service I possibly can. I never throw personal insults and i'd help any vendor if I could. But what annoys me most about this, is he was willing to offload these chargers onto me (I obviously declined). And if he knew (not saying he did) that they were fake at the time - that's some totally underhanded shit. You don't run a business like this, you respect each other as me and @18650UK do.

Then after this, to have the nerve - to ask me for help - to get you out of this shit storm you've caused.

The right thing? You had your chance to do the right thing. And now you've pissed me off.

Back you up?! Of course we'll back you up, Josh. We'll back you up all the way to the fucking exit.

Don't worry mate, all 18650's are "high discharge batteries". The Smoant Charon is a regulated mod, 20A batteries will work fine in it - the mod won't over-stress the batteries.

Ah okay, i went only by what i was told/have heard and it made kinda sense because of the big display. All good then, now they just need to fricking ship it grr.

If you bought from China mate (FastTech, Gearbest etc) your order probably got caught up in the national holiday over there - I've got a Dead Rabbit RDA on order that'll be positively stinking by the time it gets here :)

Just had an email from hotecig which has just shipped so they are getting back to normal.
Fastech email early last week that had shipped but I think they could of been telling porky pies as they were on holiday then.
