Hello, I am new to vaping and forums. I have been trying out vaping for the last couple of weeks, I bought a starter kit online, it seems like a good ecig well made etc. I do like using it but because I have smoked for 36 years I find myself afraid to live without smoking tobacco. Does anyone else feel this way and how long did it take them to adjust to vaping? :grin2:

I've been smoking 25 years now vaping for 2 weeks and loving it.having no probs.

Sent from my HTC One SV using Planet of the Vapes mobile app

when i first started vaping i was exactly the same so kept a few packs of tobacco on top of the fridge just incase. after about 2 months i gave them away to a neighbour and never thought of it since.
i too smoked for well over 30 years and up untill vaping would smoke 50 - 60 roll ups a day. stick with it its worth it in the long run you will soon realise how good you feel and all the flavours of food you have been missing.not to mention your health.
good luck

welcome, I have managed to have no stinkies in the house for a whole week, its a struggle knowing that I haven't got a safety net but I'm coping

If it's any comfort, the fear over not having tobacco to hand will gradually fade away.... and be replaced by the fear of not having a charged battery/e-liquid/spare carto/back up device to hand.

Happily, this can be solved by succumbing to shinyitis, buying shedloads of vape gear and carrying a huge bag of mods and spares around with you. :)

the first few weeks are the worst then the temptations should go away - welcome to the planet caz

could i ask you to sign and support the EFVI initiative to help stop the proposed eu ban on ecigs - www.efvi.eu
thank you.

My wife smokes still and it doesn't bother me a bit. I normally tell her I don't mind as it masks her usual stench!

I'd say, do whatever way works best for you.

:welcome1:

What happened to me was that I didn't expect vaping to help me give up, only to cut down a little (maybe), and also I could vape in my house which I never smoked in. Then a week later I just didn't want a rollup and that so far is that :) I've still got some baccy sitting in a drawer, if I really want a rollup then I'll have one and wont feel guilty about it. There's enough stress around without feeling bad about having a rollup, so I would say enjoy your vape and see where it leads :)

It's completely normal to feel the way you do. Your brain is tuned into a routine like a second nature & you're so used to performing a specific habit that you're bound to feel that way.
I smoked for 27 years & i gave up with the help of vaping inside a week although i had been mentally trying for a lot longer than that.
Smokers wanting to give up have to unlearn a behavior & that will happen naturally over a period of time, it can take a few months but it's not good to focus on that, better to focus on what you want to do in place of the cigs. The fear of leaving the house without cigs ,when you look at it rationally, is a fear of nothing really. if you want to stop smoking there's no reason why you can't & honestly, vaping is a very real & great alternative. It's not just me who says so either. I wish you the very best of luck & hope you achieve what you want....
....& welcome to the forum !:2thumbsup:

Still got my last pack in my coat pocket, may be a bit stale now, over 2 months old !! now all I worry about is running out of liquid !
good luck and hope it works as well for you as it did me.
Oh, and I smoked 30 day for 33 years
