First attempt at RTA with Ammit MTL a disaster!

Really struggling to get this work right. I am not an MTL guy, but more of a restricted direct lung vapor and my main issue is that this tank gives me too many dry hits. Is it because the bottom liquid ports are too small?

I have tried with lots of cotton and very less cotton and everything in between, but I feel that there seems to be a point after a couple of drags, where the tank loses its vacuum properties and the wick just gets dry. Would love to hear from you guys.

The Ammit MTL? I just thin the tails out a bit so it's quite light in the wicking channels, I do find the wick doesn't last too long though, maybe 2 weeks with casual use when I can hammer the Dvawrl for a month no problem

Thanks, Will try that as well. Any pics would be really helpful. Whats the length of the wicks that you use?

I've been thinking about this. I don't get dry hits, other than related to under squonking it, but that squonk pin doesn't like liquids with more than 50% VG. You need a lot of pressure to get higher VGs through. This means you often don't get as much juice to the cotton, as you think. The pin, in my view, could do with an extra .25mm added to its bore.

I don't have have with me right now but I snip them flush with the bottom of the juice wells

I've half-built my first double Clapton coil Vandy Vape Pyro V3: coils in place but wicks to be done yet.

It was a bit of an ordeal: my first attempt came up 'shorted'. So I took it all apart again and put it back together more meticulously. No short this time but I've yet to wick it.

No rush as I'm waiting for a new Innokin 235W mod (which looks like it could cook your breakfast if you ask nicely! :14:) Hopefully tomorrow...

Same sort of method, that's an RDTA, right? Cotton snug through the coils, snip so the ends are just dipping into the juice reservoir, thin them out so nice, light & fluffy then gently tuck in. Enjoy dude :2thumbsup:

Yep, it's an RDTA.

Re wicking I've watched/read that many tutorials I should be able to do this blindfolded :18:

Finally finished wicking this about a week ago. With an ID of only 1.8 mm on the (dual) Clapton, threading the cotton (bacon) through was a bit of an ordeal for a first time wicker at least. Practice makes perfect I guess...

Taste @ 60 W is wonderful and very decent clouds too! Vaping a lime/cola 3% nic on it now...

But some issues too...

The filling ports (2) are very small diameter.

It's difficult 'lock' the chimney onto the plate and impossible to do it w/o affecting the air setting. So I found myself undoing the chimney inadvertently quite a few times! Getting used to it now.

And talk about that, fully open air is useless (at least @60W) and nearly closed means air only comes in from the sides, not from the bottom.

Still, happy vaping!
