First attempt at RTA with Ammit MTL a disaster!

Get a bag of these @baldeagle . They’re similar to muji pads, but these are organic. £4 delivered for 200 pads.

Amazon product ASIN B000TCD51A
Guess you didn't read my thread the other day on Amazon links. You need to drop the https:// in the link for everyone to see it. Start the link with www. All I see is "this page cannot be displayed". I know I'm not the only one. Others can also apparently only see a blank space. All browser dependant.

Cheers @Mitz , no I hadn’t seen your post. I’ve edited a link in. For some reason it’s put the original link I posted in some sort of code I don’t understand. See screen grab of edit post above.

No, that won't work mate. Once you've posted the link the forum changes it into a media link.

You need to copy the amazon page address, past it to your post and then just delete the https:// from the front of the address and then post.

You can edit your original post but delete the original link (that the forum software has altered into a media link) and post the amazon page address again in its place removing the https:// from the beginning so it starts www. Then save.

you can always create a link from the forum tools
thusly:

Cotton Labo Organic Cotton Puff Size M (200Pc)
Perfect. Cheers mate. Very easy to just post the Web page address minus the https:// tho. It's just more complicated if you try and edit an already posted link. The link has to be deleted and replaced because the forum software changes it to a media link that can't be edited. It has to be deleted and replaced.

I for one don't know how to use the forum tools. I just go to the page, copy the address, paste it, remove the beginning so it starts www. and hey presto.

For some reason it's only an issue with Amazon.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't wait 3 weeks so in the meantime I'll have to find something that's available in the UK.

Going back to coil setup...for low airflow MTL am I better off with a higher ohm coil such as 1.6 or 1.8? I'd like to achieve better vapour production without causing spitting, but as said I can't seem to go over 11W with my current setup.

Use super fine mtl coils. You can also get it in spool if you prefer. You can get 2x30/38 or 2x32/38. If you check the variations. Also Ni80, SS or KA1.

Well I am very pleased to report that my first attempt with the Ehpro tank resulted in none of the gurgling and flooding I experienced with the Ammit.

Initially I used the clapton 1ohm coil that came with the tank and the only issue was a some popping and spitting which was mostly cured by using a little less wick. Now I'm using a 1.6ohm coil it's better still, although I am still getting some spitting if I use more than 11W which doesn't produce quite enough vapour; any higher and I can hear it plus taste juice in the back of my throat.

The coil I made is a 2.5mm dia 1.6ohm on 28/29ga kanthal and I like to use the tightest air restriction on this tank. I'm not sure what changes to the coil setup I should make to reduce spitting and increase vapour production, any suggestions would be welcome.

Maybe it's the wick that's the issue, I'm currently using the wick pad that came with the tank. I need to order some soon so again any suggestions as to what type works best with this tank/setup would be welcome.

Cheers!

I'm using 29awg - 6 wraps tightly (clockwise usually) wound tightly 2.5mm = about 1.35 Ohms to 1.4 Ohms
The coil is WOUND tightly to the bar to get similar consistent coils, but coil is still SPACED - in case you are confused
(for some reason the coils come out about 0.05 to 0.10 Ohms lower in True than other tanks - better conduction ???)

Anyway you should not need any more than 11w - but pay attention to the volts
on my coils I rarely need to go above 3.7v - often 3.6v to 3.65v or running at 9.5W to 10W
(depends on mod)

If I go much above 3.65v on Galaxies MTL RTA it spits like a banshee on first draw from cold

Position the coil around 2mm from air jet nozzle on deck - but is a bit tricky to see as it rises in middle
Position the coil high enough to clear risk of saturated wick touching the air block
but low enough to ensure flavour - you will suss it as well as as near as possible the coil is level and centred etc...
( if you have ultra OCD like moi you can end up fucking about with coil positioning more than the wicking :D )

Once sussed with coil created & positioned as close to perfection as possible with decent cotton
then you will not need so much Amps or Volts to release the full flavour (trust me)
You are nearly there but just atm you are bumping up the electricity "juice" to obtain the slightly missing flavour from e-juice

Well that is what it sounds like to me

Oh and if you want more vapour - open up the air hole to allow more air into the tank
then you get more vapour, or smaller air hole for tighter draw with less vapour
if you want more vapour - select the largest hole, though I like moderate draw/vapour so use 2nd smallest

Thanks for that I'll bear all this in mind next build.

I am slightly confused about voltage/watts though. When my Zelos is in in Watt mode it displays the coil ohms and '0.0v'. When in Volt mode it shows coil ohms and '0.0w'. tbh I am not sure which mode I should be using, why it shows either zero volts or zero watts depending on the mode selected, and if altering the volt setting affects the watt setting and vice versa...?

When in watts mode the volts will be displayed when you press the fire button
