Just had my first attempt at making coils.

I was aiming for about 1.8ohms this is the first one it came in at 2.2ohms, I used 30awg and I think 1.8mm screwdriver (I'm not sure of the size it was just a bunch I had lying about)

This one is my second attempt its 2.0ohms, still aiming for 1.8ohms. It might be lower but iStick is reading it at that (not yet got an ohm reader, will have one when I get my Lemo 2) Im not sure I'm counting my wraps properly this was supposed to be 7 wraps but I think its 8? Do you count the first bit when you start the wrap or the next full one? Either that or I'm not taking into account the full length of the legs. Lost a bit of tightness when putting it in the NatureVape base, quite fiddly being so small. Sure an RTA would be a lot less fiddly.

Think they came out alright for a first go.

Count the wraps you can see, so your second one is 8 wraps, which is why it's come out a bit high. Nice job though.

Just tried the coil out and got a slight taste of burnt rubber, would this be hot legs? Although they aren't glowing at all so I'm not sure?

Also is an ohm reader necessary for a vv/vw device? I don't use mech mods is it worth me getting one if I'm just using sticks?

I havent sub ohmed before but ill probably give it ago when get the Lemo 2. Lowest ill go is probably 0.5ohms. Is the stick accurate enough?

All ways worth using a ohms reader the main reason is this. If you built a 0.1 ohm coil and your vw device only read to 0.2+ it aint no good, so pick a cheap ohms reader up and that will work better for you. Plus the vw devices read with in 0.2 resistance +/-

Thanks is there a recommended one, I was looking at the Smok Omnitester for about £12. But not many reviews on it.
