Will look at picking up some of Stealth Vape's Brochrome Ni80 24awg wire when they have some more in stock, and build some coils (aiming for at least 0.2ohm). Shall also see what I can pick up at the Vape Expo on Sunday.

I use 23 & 25awg no issues getting the ohms you want with those.

How many wraps would I need on the 23 & 25awg to get around 0.2ohms then...23awg - 11 wraps & 25awg - 8 wraps? That would seem like alot of wraps to me, but there again this would be my first time building my own coils.


Actually scratch that, I hadn't taken into account the inner diameter of the coils!

23awg - 7 wraps for 0.2ohms
25awg - 5 wraps for 0.2ohms

I guess in the short term I could use the Flatwire FlatSixy 22g wire that I already have, go for 3mm inner diameter and go with 8 wraps which would get me closer to 0.2ohms than my current coils?

Just remember if dual coils it's half the resistance. I'm currently using 6 wrap, 25g, 3mm dia dual coil in the Drop & resistance is 0.26ohm

25awg - 5 wraps is 0.44ohm
at 3mm dia single coil

Am using Ni80 round, with roundwire equivilant sizes on the Stealthvape website.

23awg - 0.57mm
25awg - 0.46mm

Am also telling Steam Engine that its a dual coil setup. But that's on the Coil Wrapping section. I now see what your saying on the Wire Wizard section.

So on that basis then, and if I've understood things correctly - brochrome 25awg (0.46mm), 5 wraps = 0.437ohms. Which when using dual coil, would give me 0.22ohms?

lol realised as I posted you were dual coiling because no matter what combination I couldn't get your figures. I use the wire wizard tab as it's quicker to alter stuff & if dual coils just half what it says.

Apologies for all the noob questions, but is it best to keep the number of wraps to around 5/6 and 3mm inner diameter when making coils? Although I understand that the biggest limitation will probably be down to the size of the build deck and the space you have to build/ wick in.
