What's new

First real mech

Normally I'd link to a Chinese site at half the price but in light of the current postal situation with them

Lol. Got that on my Dremel. Or something like it anyway. It never occurred to me to use it. Oops, I'm not using anything except water and green scotch cloth. I'd be unhappy using a cutting past with a power tool. But if I can wrap some green on a buffing drum, humm interesting.
Oh good. An idea that won't cost me anything. :happy guys:

K so things have moved on a bit.
I've decided, when I say 'I' I'm meant me and my blisters, to try just polishing the rebate. I'm far from convinced, to be honest. If the mod had been copper, it would have worked. If the paint was black, it would work. I'm just not convinced it works with brass and white.

Ok folks, nothing to see here. Well apart from 2x30T's happily charging away in my Nitecore.

What the fuck are you doing to my poor mech [emoji23][emoji23]

Making it mine. Would be my defence
Whilst the mod was in fantastic condition, I always intended to strip the paint. Sorry.
As I'm doing it purely by hand, it allows my to try things, as I go. Revealing the brass, in the couture, didn't quite look right. So it's on with the rest of the mod, now.
Rest assured. The mod will shine like a mirror and look like new, when finished. Though I may still burnish the contour rebate, to accentuate the lines.

Ok. So since the mod arrived I've been using a brochrome .23 ohm build in my Reberth rta.
Now as a lovely pair of 30Ts arrived today. I've used several rotation builds of about 14 ohm.
I've yet to build, specifically, for a 35amp mech.
I was going to use the Kennedy. But them posts are very far apart for even a " fence wire" brochrome build. Which leaves the Goon as favourite, with its clamp style deck.
I was kindly sent 2 tri core fused claptons by, @stevoknevo . But a complex build, probably isn't what I need. Honestly both the vt530 and the Minikin hit as hard, as the mech, with these coils, and all three need at least one pulse to gain temp.
I've only tried one low brochrome build of .15 ohm. But boy can you tell the difference. It's like you're vaping at .12 not .15 ohm. And, finally it hits hard.
