got my franky clone today and after faffing around trying to find a o-ring to raise the 510 pin up which i did. i thought why not try and see if a fdv4 v4 bf 510 would fit and with some monkeying about it fits and works really nicely it sits abit higher as there isnt much of a groove that`s the only thing i`ve found so far and its not a round hole under the 510 its square so you will need to screw the fdv 510 in place oh and bend the pos peice at the top so it touched the brass peice of the 510

Nicely done [emoji106]
I've one of the varitube 510s lying around, do you reckon I could squeeze that into the frankenskul

if its the varitube with the threading all the way down the feed tube i would say it would need tobe shortened quite abit the threaded part as there isnt much room or if you could find a shorter bottle it may work. the fdv and the stock one are roughly the same length it`s just the big brass nut that makes it wider near the bottom.

Nice job, glad it's worked and looks pretty decent. I'm not a missive fan of the 'in your face' clone look, especially with something as iconic as the frankie, but it's a great mod and nice and simple (hence your easy fix to the issue presented) I would actually be interested in getting one now, but I just can't get over obvious clone look (I'm sorry).

for those that have one and not bothered in the slightest, which there is A LOT Of people, take note and get it done!
Well done @stuartd nice job [emoji106]

decided to try it with copper plates instead of what was in there so i used some spare 0.5mm stuff i had spare

Hi @stuartd i've got my frankie clone through today and was looking at how simple the swap over to the fdv4 v4 bf 510 was? - would you be able to maybe run through a very quick step by step guide as I know id find it very helpful given this would be my first foray into 'modding' in terms of replacing any parts on any of my mods.... and is it the following 510 that you used?:

you can use that one but you would need to cut off about 3mm maybe more of the ss tube so the bottle would fit and as for a guide its basicly just unscrewing the 510 brass nut so you`ll need a flat head screwdriver put it down the 510 hole at the top and unscrew the round brass nut and then a pair of needle noise pliers works great. undo the nut holding the 510 in-place underneath and then push the old 510 out and nowish the hard bit the fdv needs screwed in as the old one is square and the fdv is round so will need some force then replace the top positive peice one the inside and then screw the fdv nut into place and then you will need to bend the neg bar near the top so it has a lip that will then touch the ss bar of the fdv 510 oh before i forget the positive bar can be abit of a bugger to get out but it will come out

Is there another 510 that you can suggest using that wouldn't need to be trimmed down at all?
