Surely those people are just subject to a good marketing campaign ran by the original manufacturer, who I'm sure put effort time and money into making what they did.

This squonking has rattled me a little more than any other vaping product probably because I'm in the market for a couple of squonkers and all this FB secret group, lottery type carry on is a right pita.
I suppose this is what happens when demand outstrips supply and the way of the world.

I'd probably be willy waving if I had a authentic frankie but I haven't got one and not in the market for one but neither will I buy the clone.

Imho I do hope the clones are a success though as I'm not a fan of all this elitist free mason type pish. Not that I'm against expensive products just make them readlily available to all that want to buy them.

Or is it not that simple?

Surely it's just marketing hype, there's been numerous hand-made mods and the like over the years that have had huge demand! and things like the evl atty and what not... none of them have got this much hate from people that don't have one, I don't get it.

The whole lottery process may have originally just been a way of feeding the manufacturers ego, or maybe just seemed like a reasonable way to get through the waiting list (I seriously doubt it's the latter)

Would people still be showing them off if it was just 'pay your 150 quid and put yer name on the list'? I don't know..

But yeah, buy a clone, don't buy a clone whatever.

Several things that make the Frankie popular:-

1. Rarity being the main factor.
2. The size and weight, it's pretty damned small and weighs nearly nothing.
3. Some, like myself like the aesthetics of it.

I agree however regards the amount that aren't out there. I'm pro-authentic, but I have nothing against clones.

It's a nice mod the authentic, I wouldn't bother personally chasing another vaping device for so long again though.

It's just a box, but that's my view.

Most of my stuff is clone, I'd love to be able to justify to myself that spending 100+ on a plastic box but I just can't. Personally I'd of been happier if it had no markings, misspelt or otherwise it's still trying to be something it's not. The spelling is only wrong on the door not the case, how long before they produce extra doors correctly spelt ? I'm going to order one over Christmas though.

Well from what I can gather Kindbright released images of the mis-spelling, then later released more photos with the correct spelling.

Also tbf, China aren't the first to clone the Frankie. A French guy/company cloned it awhile ago (so well infact, it was passed off as genuine to a vendor who sells high end squonks)
