Okay, just wondering who in their travels have bought what from where in terms of who sells and foes not sell the genuine products, I.e. ego (joyetech) batteries and vision ce5 or 6 clearos and where says they do but actually doesn't. If we are allowed to discuss this... I know i have bought a few batteries, supposedly genuine, which are not. As a newbie didn't know what to look for. And of the batteries and clearos I have bought, some have seemed to work ok initially, some have been faulty right from the off and some have actually been potentially dangerous. As this could potentially threaten the whole industry what is the best way that we as users can deal with this issue?

depends on what you mean by genuine... genuine could be specific to Brand...

Joyetech has a list on their website, which lists the authorized resellers as well as the unauthorized.

PS report any bad products / vendors to ECCA www.eccauk.org

Bad products and also potentially dangerous ones... Also, by genuine, I mean sold as described... If a site says they are selling genuine ego batteries and vision ego clearos but what they are selling is an unbranded cheapo version from China then they are breaking tue law, (trade descriptions act) fairly sure we want all companies to act within the law so the industry does not get a bad name. And it would be fine if they actually sold such items as ego compatible for example, as so far as I can guess then no laws are broken and is up to the customer if they choose to go with it. Not been my experience so far I have to say...

Have had a look at eccauk and currently they are updating stuff. Will try to remember to check back with them in a few days and report the vendors selling dodgy products. Have already am ongoing paypal dispute with one company and will be in contact with a second to see if they will do anything to reeolve problems after a battery they sold blew up on me... Well almost, certainly safety issues are involved. Well known trader who I went to after user recommendations on forums. No details here obviously. Am hoping is an isolated incident but we will see. ..

2 dangerous batteries bought (with other items) from 2 different vendors. Am happy to report that as purchased via PayPal one vendor has now agreed to a partial refund. And the other has paid a full refund with no problem, and not just for the faulty goods. The first vendor was very bad at handling the problem and only agreed to a partial refund I think because otherwise would have got in trouble and maybe lost PayPal seller status. The partial refund did cover the dangerous and faulty parts but not the full amount for missold items. The second vendor refunded the whole purchase not just the faulty or missold items but also the juices I bought. Now have 2 batteries in my house with the wires cut back bit am still concerned about how to dispose of them safely, as they keep shorting in such a way that they could start a fire if they are in contact with anything at all combustible. Ah well you live and learn.

Hi nikki, for what its worth, the only two things I've had trouble with have been branded. One was a Riva battery that 'popped' on charger, so may have been the charger, and a genuine Vision ce4 which I am a bit fed up about as it was brand new out the packet but didn't check it on arrival (it was a BACK UP) and vender not replied to my emails so will not be using them again, ok its only a ce4, but not good service at all. I don't like being ignored or wasting my money, lol.

Hi Ros66 it doesn't matter what it is,I think it's bad when you are being ignored,it shows the vendor is guilty, good for you not using them again.
