I would not let it get you down mate. Those who operate outside the rules are surely a small percentage as all I see is such good feedback from a well run classified. I always feel that if something goes wrong then you and the team will help as best they can and that is all that one can ask for surely. Remember people also take a risk when they come here or sell or buy on any platform for that matter and it is life to some degree.

I also do note that the sceptic that I am won't trade with anyone with less than 50 minimum posts.....I just prefer to play it safe so as others have mentioned maybe upping the post count, withholding privileges etc could be an option. Any these classies and forum has been a joy to use with you being such an important part and can genuinely say I would not have felt at home was it not for getting to know you here. Try to not hit that nuclear button

I'm with that chunt Teatime and the lovely @Crewella on the pm's and post counts. There's no real need to pm anyone before 20 posts (which really isn't a lot btw) and it does seem like a tease that new members can see the classifieds yet not post there.
@Rob you run the classifieds flawlessly and it will be a shame to see you go. Hold out a bit, take a step back see what can be done to make things easier /better for you.

Forgive me for just diving in and calling a spade a spade, but there is always the option to scrap Classies or limit to giveaways and swaps.. The only folks that will really miss them are those trying to make a quick buck.
I do sympathies with you @Rob and other admins/mods for having to get tied up in stuff that doesn't really need to be there in the first place.
Despite our best goodwill and intentions I reckon that very few folks sell stuff as a favour.
I'm sure, however, that any way that you decide to be the way forward will be the best way.

I agree, just make them totally invisible (if that's possible) to anyone who doesn't meet a required post count and don't even tell people what that number is, personally I don't feel 100 as a minimum is all that much and it could be a fair bit more if you wanted.

... also you could do it on time too, 30 days minimum say, then there would be no point in spamming 'welcome to the forum' 100 times in a day because you wouldn't get access for a month anyway.

POTV is a rare beast .. a very well moderated forum.

It takes a LOT of time and effort by volunteers to keep a site this large running so smoothly.

If, sadly, there are people who cannot observe an honour code, then any actions the admins take to keep this site running smoothly become appropriate.

Well ......... much of what you have suggested is already well on its way to fruition. I should refrain from reminding a certain person that she actively encouraged people to PM sellers direct when they didn't have the required Post Count

Yes, I DO take it very personally, but I have expended HOURS on this and other aspects of forum life and whether you can see my point of view or not, really doesn't matter one jot because that is how I am feeling.
I am hoping that we will be able to introduce new limitations and restrictions on access. I am SO far ahead of you with regard to HOW this will be done, but it is heartening to see that some are singing from the same sheet.
I will go as far as saying that I initially asked for a considerably higher Post Count than has been suggested, but it looks as though that has been knocked back, but I am hopeful that we will see the minimum level raised somewhat.

From a new members point of view, the classifieds on here are an amazing thing, if they were not here then people would still trade, but it would be completely under the radar. Someone asks what tank they should get and 6 people PM them saying "I have this tank you can buy", which will just lead to far more people being ripped off.

I agree with the PM suggestion, make it 50 or 100 posts for newbies, it's not like you have much to PM about other than sales and trade before you start to make friends on a forum.
