What's new

Getting a bit fed up now!!

@Rob are these 3 folk purposely trading with newbies or have they just received a pm from a noob and not thought to check their post count? I use the mobile site not the app and unless I click into someone's profile i cannot see how many posts they have made. Just a thought?

I have mentioned before that i think that pm privileges should be removed to those that fall below a certain post count and I'd definately support any new measures to help protect people from rogue traders. I believe that any honest ape in here would feel the same.

Keep up the good work rob and try not to get too disheartened by the things that go wrong. You do such a sterling job of keeping everything together and we all appreciate the work you do.

I hang out on a couple of other forums, not all vape related. Some, despite contributing in a timely and considered manner, I still don't have enough posts to trade. Yet you still get the same transgressions in the classifieds.

My suggestion would be a 'vouch' system. The mechanics seem to exist in the back end via the trophy system. The trophies don't seem to serve any meaningful purpose. If you get an arbitrary number of 'vouch' votes - say 15, or 20 - then off you go...

This would encourage quality rather than quantity....

30 - 40 'vouch' votes could enable you to 'vouch' others, this would mean that the power to 'vouch' could start with the admins, but could spread through the community...

That's poor, I don't sell a huge amount through the classifieds and help admin a page.. It's a lot of effort you undertake for no reward other than community satisfaction.

You put a lot of time and effort into the forum, shame to see that rules are being bent. [emoji17]

I'm sorry to hear that's made u sad @Rob but I hope u keep up the great work u do an I hope the people u speak of hang there heads in shame! This community needs to stick together not fuck it all up for everyone so pay attention to the rules please

I tried to buy something from the classifieds yesterday but as I only have five posts in two years, six now I guess, the seller wouldn't sell to me. I checked out the classified rules and assumed the twenty post count rule weren't applicable to me as I wasn't posting a wanted add. I don't particularly mind the sale not going through but as I said to the seller I'm not going to spam the forums just to save a few quid as I'm not sure that having a post count restriction necessarily helps the community as you simply get more shit posts.

Everything's been covered.

Only popping in to say to both Rob & Toby, I and I believe I speak for most here... Truly appreciate the time you guys take out your personal time to keep the members as safe as possible

Hey Padwah as i said yesterday i wasnt 100% sure like you were yourself. I spoke to a mod to clarify where i stood as i know there would be knock on effects to me if i had decided to ignore the rules. These rules are in place to protect me and fellow users on the forum from being scammed. And to stop people signing up just to get a cheap deal on an item. Not saying you arent a genuine person or that you would of scammed rules are rules at the end of the day. And to be honest i have done a fair few trades and purchases but always by the rules and to people that where regulars on the forum which gave me peace of mind. The only thing i have left to say is if you are interested in becoming a part of our community please get involved. And maybe one day once i get to know you we can maybe do some trading.

No it's fine, every forum has its rules but that one isn't very clear. I know forums rely on their communities and people posting regularly, otherwise everyone would just be on Facebook instead. I just post if I've got something to add, whatever forum in on, unfortunately for me that means a low post count on here.

Damn it's 7 now!

Just echoing what has already been said, but I have recently been ripped by a knobjockey on a Farcebook group. In my 2+ years of vaping, I've bought loads and sold loads through the classies on here and not once has the transaction been anything other than perfect. My second buy on Facebook and I'm out of pocket by £20.

So for me, I'm more than happy to support any further moves towards protecting good, honest Apes. Scumbags, move along to Facebook where the group admins don't really give a shite.

Rob and Toby and all the other mods, keep up the good work. It is genuinely appreciated as others have said.
