What's new

Getting a bit fed up now!!

I feel I must clarify a statement I made earlier about subscription.
Another site I am a member of , not vaping , I pay a subscription to but that is my choice. You can pay as little as £5 and up and don't have to pay every year. It's called a donation actually.

If you donate you have access to the whole site and if you don't then you are restricted. No access to selling is just one.

If I had to pay to join I would have never bothered but once on the site and seeing the help you get and can give and the amount of banter then it becomes enjoyable so I felt I would donate.

Just thought I'd clarify [emoji6]

This is a great site and I hope it continues.
I'm not that knowledgeable about all of this so reading the posts is interesting.
Sometimes puzzling [emoji23]

I'm going to play devil's advocate and approach this from the side of "Why NOT have a paywall?"

We can visit and browse sites like Amazon and Ebay for free because of the potential for a financial transaction at the end of it. We use social media sites for free because they harvest our personal information to sell on and to target advertising at us. POTV is a high traffic service with thousands of returning users and we all use it for free. Why not charge a fiver for an account, cut down on petty scammers and chancers and increase revenue that can be put back into running costs?

Anyone on this forum with a job makes more than that in an hour. I'd have paid a fiver when I first joined and I'd pay a fiver tomorrow if it was implemented because POTV is a quality forum with quality people and content.

Scammer would gladly pay £5 to maximiese their profits..

The fiver would not element con artists..

Theyd see the fiver a small investment ..

I do seriously think that we need to up the amount of posts we need for certain privileges....

The gorgeous @Crewella makes a good point....increase the amount of posts for pm's and, although I think this might be controversial, make the sales forum only visible to those that actually contribute to the forum....make the post count 100 or more....

I also think that post counts in the "welcome" section should not count towards your list count either....as you can always see newbies posting on there to get there post count up....

And if any of you bleeding hearts come on here and say "but I read more then I post" tough fucking shit....this is a community populated by people that have a passion for vaping and who do actually give a fuck....

If you want something cheap then become part of it, and you'll get "mates rates"....

If not, fuck off....

And to those that have sidestepped the rules, let's hope that you get your money and the deal goes though....if not, then fucking good job.....don't be a cunt

i agree with you
even if it means my low post count of a hundred and something is affected so be it i would rather the free loaders fucked off and people who work or earn there status giving to the community get where they need be honestly

in simple

do it i will admit i am a noob on here i have entered a few draws but i see some people put no help out to anyone but there selves it annoys me. i have put my name down on a few raffles etc i am new but still willing to try and give what little knowledge i have to others and i am happy that it goes the other way also with appreciation

@Rob can you set this up or put the idea forward and increase the post limits for privileges so classifieds start at 100 or 150 etc and PM around the same

It is at the "being considered" stage @chavlar. Any dramatic changes need to be approved by all The Team and I have approached them about this.
It remains to be seen how they feel about all of this.:)

The thing is its not about the money its about people not abiding by the rules. Newbies might not fully understand the rules and seasoned members should be letting them know the rules and not doing private deals through pms. The mods dont get paid to do this and all the costs will be covered by advertising if they do actually cover the whole costs. And post tpd if the site needed donations to run i for one would help out and i know many others would aswell

agree id back it too as they say.....give something to get something

edit time just thought if there was a stack of money now built up from charging people then give it to charity like look at mole juice his profit goes to charity maybe we could help support charitys and fight tpd with it

Aye! Reign it in. All this motivational talk on a Monday! You've still got the rest of the week to go yet. Don't over exhaust yourself :D;)

probably because i quit my job at auto glas and nothing else to do till i get you lot call me at me next job at ukmail moaning wheres my parcel lol

@Rob you do a fantastic job and you really helped me out when I didn't have a clue what I was doing when I first started selling some of my vape gear.

I would love to see the classified locked so only members with say 100 posts or more can enter the thread.
Also do the same with the competition/giveaway section. I've done quite a few small giveaways and it pissed me off when newbies entered as I would rather my prizes go to someone who actively posts on this form.
Now I put on my threads that members must have 100 posts plus to enter but time to time I get the odd member who doesn't read the rules and still put their name down.

Is there any way you can set how many letters/words members can put in one post?. If you had to post 100 times to unlock certain parts on the forum some members will post one word like 'Lol' in a post so they bump their post count up quicker.

Junglist and the rest of the team do a fantastic job running this forum I would be happy to pay for a membership or even just to contribute to this forum.

It must be really frustrating for you Rob but as the others have said, you really are doing a great job :)2

Plans are now getting quite involved. We will NOT be counting Post made in The Introduction Area as part of anyone's Post Count and we will be watching exactly what people's posts consist of when deciding whether someone has actually met the new criteria.
All of this is still up in the air, so be patient whilst this all gets ironed out.:2thumbsup:
