Seems like a silly question but when I get the spool I take it I just snip of a section of it to put on the jig do I?

Either that way or wrap straight from the spool. Bit easier to keep the tension. Plenty of vids on YouTube, just search for Coil Master or coil making in general. The rod type of jigs are all pretty much the same.

there's usually a notch on the rim of the spool, if there isn't I cut one, then unwrap to the notch and tuck the end in each time.

Or use a spool tamer or elastic band round the spool.

finally got around to ordering. Ordered 28 AWG ss316L and 28 AWG NiFe30. Am curious to see what the NiFe30 is like.

Nife and nickel I found gave horrible black sludge in no time, , ss is too unstable and I've never gone down the root of Ti.
TC is a nightmare and a waste of time imo.
I'll stick with my fused NI80 forever on power mode me thinks [emoji4]
