Boris and team have repeatedly stated that they are following the science, so they are rightly questioned whenever they deviate from that. When political expediency trumps scientific advice, which is clearly the case here, then he has decided to accept the higher risk and is responsible for the consequences.
That's fucking hilarious. You dismiss my view as simplistic and flawed and counter it by dribbling out whatever you can still remember from whatever it is you were spood-fed with ... based on a documentary you watched?Hi, sorry for the delayed reply, but I have had a hell of a lot to deal with for the last week involving hospitals, and covid tests.
Unfortunately your view on the situation in simplistic, and flawed.
Boris is not simply told to follow a certain a certain course of action by SAGE, but then ignores it.
Let’s see how it works in practice.
SAGE gathers information from three, or four different scientific groups, including the WHO organisation, on a regular basis.
Now this second level of scientists also obviously have mates all over the world in the same sphere of work, and they get varying opinions from them.
So SAGE is bombarded with information from around the world, and has to try to give advice to the government via the government’s Chief Medical Advisor, even though some of this information may well be contradictory.
Then there is a cabinet meeting to discuss the recommendations, together with some others from various other bodies such as the Dept for the economy, the NHS, etc.
Now Boris has to come up with next weeks game plan to try to deal with the fluidic situation the virus has created.
Don’t forget that the scientists change their minds frequently.
Remember at the start of it all when the WHO took months to even decide if wearing face masks would help ?
I watched a recording on Wednesday evening on one of the BBC channels (originally broadcast on Monday) the documentary looked into the role of the scientist from back in Feb when the first case in the UK was discovered.
Dithering, differences of opinion, and what should be done abounded.
By the end of the documentary they were starting to absolve themselves of any blame by saying that their “epidemic modeling software” did not work correctly because of out of date information submitted by the NHS.
So maybe the NHS should get the blame for the mess we find ourselves in.
In the meantime Boris gets all the blame because the general population wrongly assume that he does whatever he feels.
I would not want his job for all the gold in Fort Knox, he is just a patsy, forced into doing whatever every other fucker wants him to do.
BJ isn’t looking very well these days at all is he? he’s had it i think.

Sure, I get that folk wouldn't want to do his job and so cut him some slack ... but he's been behind the curve from day one and is clearly not up to it.
If you want to see flawed simplicity, just take a look again at the broad brush proposed restrictions coming up. Biden has his number, described him perfectly. Boris is a corrupt, bumbling, populist, self-serving Tory cunt. The dumb fuck caught Covid himself by ignoring advice.
They will have modeled the likely cost of this 5 day Covid spree and Boris has taken that to avoid the "Boris the Grinch bans xmas" headlines in the daily rags. it's pure political expediency.
