That's why I put it in a tense that would be relevant if he was gone or not. Didn't want to kill him off if he was still alive. Either way he'd be chuffed that you'd be using his pipe for vaping instead of tobacco
Yeah I re read your post..sorry..struggling to see clearly as usual! Had he survived, it would have been interesting to see how he would have viewed vaping. He was a very old fashioned man..died in 1998, just before technology like mobile phones, broadband internet, falt screen TVs and all the rest of it..came into being. Somehow..I don't think this modern world that we take for granted today, would've sat easy with him....and lord knows what he would of made of the smoking ban in 2007!
He used to go to his local several nights a week, to a pub run by an old hippy...with the family dog..puffing away on his pint as he nattered to the locals, supping his pint! Nope...he wouldn't like the ways things are today..and I dare say..he'd have turned up his nose at this vaping malarky! lol!
And since he was a war baby, with an inate distrust of anything foreign (always bought British..even our old CRT TV were British made!)..so I know he would buy into vaping....he'd have probably thought it all load of old toddle!
But I do miss him. I dunno what he'd have thought of me as a vaper...but then it didn't exist in the '90's!
I think he'd be more surprised that I'm still single more than anything else...as he was looking forward to becoming a grandfather in 1998...unfortunately, he never got to see his first grandchild...he died in August, my bro's first born was arrived in December.
