What's new

Greetings from Hertfordshire

That's why I put it in a tense that would be relevant if he was gone or not. Didn't want to kill him off if he was still alive. Either way he'd be chuffed that you'd be using his pipe for vaping instead of tobacco :)

Yeah I re read your post..sorry..struggling to see clearly as usual! Had he survived, it would have been interesting to see how he would have viewed vaping. He was a very old fashioned man..died in 1998, just before technology like mobile phones, broadband internet, falt screen TVs and all the rest of it..came into being. Somehow..I don't think this modern world that we take for granted today, would've sat easy with him....and lord knows what he would of made of the smoking ban in 2007!

He used to go to his local several nights a week, to a pub run by an old hippy...with the family dog..puffing away on his pint as he nattered to the locals, supping his pint! Nope...he wouldn't like the ways things are today..and I dare say..he'd have turned up his nose at this vaping malarky! lol!

And since he was a war baby, with an inate distrust of anything foreign (always bought British..even our old CRT TV were British made!)..so I know he would buy into vaping....he'd have probably thought it all load of old toddle!

But I do miss him. I dunno what he'd have thought of me as a vaper...but then it didn't exist in the '90's!

I think he'd be more surprised that I'm still single more than anything else...as he was looking forward to becoming a grandfather in 1998...unfortunately, he never got to see his first grandchild...he died in August, my bro's first born was arrived in December.

Dont have any pipes myself, but am quite intrigued by it all. I may be tempted to go down this route at some point.

Well..you can't go wrong with the wee Kamry and a Naut Mini fitted to it...works for me! :D

Good to know Duke. It does look pretty cool. Think someone may need to start a thread on pipes. Not seen anything on them so far.

Was about to write about my Dad, but although he died a few years back now I can't.
Except I was a real Daddy's girl, but when I was 19 I lost contact with him due to an ex psycho, until my 40's when I found him. Loads of phone calls but managed to see him only once until he died 18 months later. Gutted!

Ok so said more than I thought I could but no emotions, still raw. He hated smoking so I think he'd be pleased. He was a funny fecker though, cracked me up all the time :D

I considered getting an epuffer, but was warned off by a local vape shop vendor..who claimed that they were dangerous! I was aiming to get the 629 Deluxe box kit, but it is expensive for what you get in it. Did you get that one?
I had 2 one I broke (dropped it in the sink & fried the electrics), one I still have.

Did he say why it was dangerous? It's just an auto fire suck & go style, like the old cigalike style minis. TBH the most reliable pipe of that type I've had. Sounds to me like somebody who wanted you to buy something he stocked rather than going elsewhere to me.

Aye..i guess we take our parents for granted...it's never the same when they go. :(

You could well be right!

Well, it was the first week I had started vaping, & he had only opened up shop up a few months before and was selling mainly Smok & Aspire products. He said of the epuffers that they just blow up! I wasn't any the wiser then..but now I can see that he was trying to steer me towards a Guardian 3, which he claimed was much better. Having seen what those one look like.....yuck! Looks terrible! Prejudiced to his own shop stock, I suspect...probably hoping that i'd buy a Smok.

I haven't been back to his shop since! You'd think they be helpful towards new vapers, but from comments I've read in this forum...B&M vendors seem to be the opposite..just wanna sell anything to a customer, not give good advice. I haven't been in a B&M shop since..i can find everything I need in this forum! lol!

I may yet still get a 629, one day....but i'm looking around to see what else there is available.

The Guardian III probably is better. Manual operation, variable voltage / wattage & whatnot, the option of being able to go sub ohm, but my god it's ugly. Not as ugly as the Joyetech Elitar, but still....

Never heard of a 629 blowing up.
