Clear coat came off with Boots Nail Polish Remover and an old toothbrush. It will never be this shiny again...

Haha, was wondering if anybody would notice that
After scrubbing off the clear coat with a toothbrush and one of those fibrous plastic pads I rinsed and dried it before polishing it with Autosol.
It's clearly going to patina very quickly now though...

Just in from weekend away and lo and behold mine is here!!!!
It's smaller than I thought, which is a plus, and it's quite a lovely thing, very well made indeed.
By the way are we positive up or down with these?
