I thought it was just me, I fucking hate beaches. I'd rather sit next to a lovely lake than the sea, stupid sand.
I haven't been to the tramway museum since I was a kid! I went to the pencil museum last year, I live a very cool rock and roll life as you can probably tell.
Ha ha god I haven't seen that film in years!
Nope, not just you. I sit on a beach ................. and after about 5 minutes I'm bored and uncomfortable and want to go home. :D

Can't hack sitting round pools either. Bored ............ hot ......... people ......... bleuch. I'm a grumpy git. :D

Then I'm a grumpy git too! I don't see the point of going somewhere just to sit in the blazing sunshine, it's fucking boring. If I go somewhere I want to actually do something, go see something, go hiking, anything but just sit there surrounded by other people, people are morons.
I've got a long weekend away booked to a yurt in the middle of nowhere in the Eden Valley, just me and the OH where we will relax and do lots of walking, I cannot wait.

............ I will, however, sit happily in a muddy festival field, in the pouring rain, grinning from ear to ear ................ :D

Exactly that - I've got a dodgy hip so can't 'hike' as such, but I just like pottering around exploring and looking at stuff in places I've not been to before. Town or country - don't mind. :)

Ha ha yep I'm exactly the same. We do a bit of hiking and explore the countryside somewhere and the history somewhere. We normally do somewhere countryside in the summer and we don't give each other Christmas presents we go on a city break every year to somewhere new to explore instead.
As for the festival field yep, totally agree, we go to Kendal Calling most years.

I just Googled - looks lovely. :2thumbsup:

I don't think there are flights to Yorkshire so we'll be going by car.
No ferries either, but there is a large bridge across a significant stretch of water.
Will be downloading a couple of copies of Speak Yorkshire Cheatsheets to get that travelling abroad vibe.
We're thinking of stocking up with Pot Noodles to avoid Covid queology while away.
