What's new

Hello everyone

Welcome to the forums Angela and congratulations on the step to being an ex smoker! We’ve all done it and you’ve found an excellent place for support and information so please any questions feel free to ask.

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum. Keep it going 2 weeks soon becomes 2 years

Hi Angela and welcome to the planet.
Congrats on the two weeks. Now is the start of the rest of your healthier life. It takes a good two-three weeks for detox all the crap out of your lungs and now even after all this time the healing process will start.

Like you I was a heavy smoker for 37 years and stopped overnight and this forum played a very big part in it.
The one thing you will suffer with..... Is a lighter pocket as shinyitis is contagious [emoji16]

Oh, I remember how it felt to manage giving up the stinkies for two weeks then an month. Before you realise it, it's a year.
Congratulations, you have every right to celebrate.
Because of vaping I've never had a faltering moment. I hope that's your experience too.

oh. And welcome to the funny farm.

Just popping in to say hello and introduce myself.

Having smoked heavily for 46 years and failed to quit many times, I was sceptical that vaping would be the answer but I've been off the ciggies for 2 weeks now and my only regret is not having tried it sooner.

It all happened a lot quicker than I was expecting thanks to the amazing information and input from this forum. I was thinking it would be weeks of experimenting with vaping before I started to enjoy it but I found a couple of flavours that hit the right spot at the right time and found I had no desire to smoke anymore!

So thanks to everyone that contributes to this goldmine of information, it is life changingly helpful.

Angela
Welcome to the site. Once you find the right vaping combo your away. I tried many times to give up smoking with no success until I started vaping. I haven't had a cigarette now for 8yrs. I have even reduced the amount of nicotine in my mix to 0. So keep up the good work:57:

Hey Angela

Well done, 2 weeks is amazing! Mental isnt it, the transition is really not as hard as u think but it still takes time, i still randomly get the odd urge, ive been off them 5 months now but i have never looked back

The forum is indeed a great place, they contributed greatly to my quitting journey

Dee
Thanks Dee, yes, I was reading your diary thread the other day, well done on 5 months. The random urges are strange, I've had a few but they only last a couple of seconds and then disappear. It's immediately replaced with a decision on which flavour to vape :-)
