My name is Asif and I am an alcoholic!

Seriously, my name IS Asif and I have started to Vape! I stumbled across this forum and have been lurking over the last few days - and have to say, what a great helpful bunch of folks on here! - I have learned a great deal in just a few hours of reading. However, I know I have a long way to go!

Right so, what is my story?

I have been a smoker for the best part 35years and am desperate to stop! I have tried everything, from Cold Turkey, NRT (patches, gums, lozenges, inhalers, funny sticky stuff you put on your tongue) Champix, hypnosis, you name it! - each time I stop for a while, but always revert back for a variety of reasons.

So, vaping is my last hope!

I came across a booth in a shopping centre (VIP) and bought some supplies!

a) a cig-a-like starter kit, with some extra cartridges. I know this won't cut it in the longer term, but thought it would be prudent to have these as backups

b) VIP Photon starter kit, with a 3 x 10ml bottle of e-liquid. I understand this is based on the EGO? and come with a 1100mAh battery with 510 thread (I think)

now 3 or 4 days into vaping, I have not had a cigarette at all, but am struggling to get the right balance of vapour and throat hit - so, already concerned that if I don't get this right, I will revert back

So, the next on my list is to get a VV unit (i.e. Inokin iStart v3.0)

1) Firstly, do people recommend this?

2) what kind of fittings does it take? are they are all interchangeable?

3) I see that clearomters come is different codings, but I don't know what they mean (e.g. Ce4/4/9 istart15/30, etc)

Any guidance on the above would be greatly appreciated and also how hardcore smokers feared in the early days of vaping

What strength nicotine is your juice? they typically come in 0.6mg 0.8mg 1.2mg 1.8mg 2.4mg if you are a heavy smoker you might need one of the stronger ones. I personally use 0.6mg and 1.2mg depending on the situation, but I managed to cut my cig intake down to between 5-10 a day before I started vaping.

I would recommend you get an Aspire Nautilus clearomizer, they are said to provide the best vape out of all the current clearomizers.

As for the battery, if you don't mind something slightly bigger (about the size of a 10 pack of cigs) I recommend the MVP v2.

You can fit any atomizer to any battery just by getting yourself some cheap adapters, but the MVP will take most things you throw at it.

Welcome Asif, from a former SW London resident (Freedom for Tooting and Mitcham), although by no means a local.

First thing I would look at, judging by your questions is a different tank/clearomiser. You could get an Evod or Mini Protank type tank and for both MyEpack would be a good choice to get a genuine one. They are both Bottom Coil Clearos, which will provide a slightly cooler vape, but a big improvement over the CE4 style ones. They will also work on your VIP set up.

I would think you would notice the difference, but if not, they would both still work on an MVP or most other VV devices, although you may need an adapter for some.

Sorry to have to correct you, but you are mixing up percentages with mg 1.2% = 12mg 1.8% = 18mg etc

Welcom... I just got the innokin itaste vv v3 with i16's and a mini protank 3, the innokin is brill, good vape of it and got my from myepack, cheap and great survice, just waiting for a vamo v2 that a POTV member kindly donated to me so i'll be giving that some abuse soon :-)

Welcome Asif from Sarf East London As has been said above, get a decent bottom coil clearomizer, check the nic level of your juices, you might want something higher, also the percentage of PG to VG, PG is the flavour carrier, so you may find that you need a 60/40 or 70/30 mix.
