Hello fellow vapers!
I'm new to the forum and about to throw my vape in bin! I've been vaping for a few years now and can't seem to get my new combo working.
I'm using the eleaf istick TC40W with the Aspire nautilis GT tank. I have tried .7 and 1.8 BVC and mesh coils with a 50/50 juice and the coils burn out literally within less than 48hrs!
I prime the coil, pull it through with no power then gradually build up the wattage. I set the Watts at 10-12 for the 1.8 and 15-18 for the .7 but still no joy! The guys in my local shop have no idea whats going on and i have tried all their suggestions.
Do these two parts actually work together? Should i just scrap it and go back to a pod kit design?
I am at a complete loss but i have invested a lot of money into this so i'm a bit annoyed i can't get it work.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

Hi @skiz and welcome to the planet.
my first real mod was the istick30 and then got the TC40 6 months later.
a great compact little mod. but ive not used the GT tank as back in the day the only tank available was the mini nautilus.
sounds like you are doing everything corectly. priming, starting low and turning u slowly.
as your also using 50/50 the only thing it could be is fake or clone coils. where are you buying them from. ebay and amazon are flooded with fakes.

Thanks for the welcome!
I've been buying them from my local vape shop and they have said that a few other customers have had the same issue. I even scratched off the pack symbol to check if they were original, which apparently they were. I did buy some from Amazon, and they worked fine! A friend bought me some of the nautlis X coils and still have the problem!

when i did buy nautilus bvc coils i always bought from wholesale coils (post 5 of my above list) who i found the cheapest and never had an issue with any of them.
on another note then, what juice are you using. 50/50 should work perfectly but if its high in sweetner (especially ivg) then that could be the problem.

back in the day there was a few codes that showed as authentic. the code was but the coils werent and it was exactly the same code on all the boxes. so as usefull as a chocolate teapot.

Does that thing maybe have a preheat. Ive never had a problem either, r u letting the tank get too low possibly letting the cotton dry out? That would burn them instantly

I've been using Peeky Blenders juice which is fruity flavoured.
I suppose sometimes i have been caught out with the letting the tank empty - so that is something i could watch more closely.
I've washed out my other coils as the wicks still are white and i'll try them again. I've knocked the Watts down to 8w now and that seems to be better, although the flavour is not great

I like to keep it above the intake holes obviously, but also above where i imagine the top of the cotton to be, cuz i anecdotally believe that it just helps wicking just how the height level of a liquid will naturally even out between 2 different chambers, as in inside and outside of a coil.

Also be careful holding it horizontal or somewhat tilted up for obvious reasons. It only take one or 2 really dry hits in my experience to toast a coil. I typically run a little higher wattage, but i also arent having that prob, so one step at a time

(Sorry for the bad grammar, i guess it should be 'ain't', but thats still not an acceptable word either, and yes, u guessed it, u r speaking to someone who speaks americaneese, not english, lol, welcome to the forum)

I can't think of a reason why the mod and tank wouldn't be compatible in wattage mode, my better half uses a Pico with a GT Mini tank with no problems. As said above make sure your juice level is above the juice inlet holes, vaping when the tank is empty will burn out any coil.
