Help batteries stuck

long nosed pliers, there's enough battery showing to carefully get a grip on each battery?

I’ve tried the long nose pliers mate, it’s just destroyed the wraps and if I go any more I don’t want to risk damaging the cells, mainly in case I break or dent the actual casing and have another incident on my hands.

Just hasn’t been my week but hopefully next will be better, I am going to try the dismantle the mod method soon as a last resort as I like the cuboids, just not them eating batteries.

If the inside where the batteries go is metal I'd probably try putting a bunch of Ice in a ziplock bag, wrapping it around the mod to get it nice and cold then try shaking it after a few minutes.

you could try making a pull tab out of gaffer tape and give that a sharp tug
once it starts to move, grab the edges with the long nose pliers

If all else fails maybe try and get some VG in there to give it some lube.

@conanthewarrior did you try my method? I’ve had success with it before so know it works unless the cells have swelled in which case might be best to keep it in a heat proof container just in case.

When I've had cells stuck I've had to slit the wrap open and use ceramic tweezers to grip the ripped wrap to pull them out just enough to get a proper hold.

Someone already said...put it in a freezer, that might work. Regardless of the mod, the batteries are metal and will shrink (maybe, lol, they should anyway) When you take out, the battery wraps and everything plastic will be a little brittle so keep that in mind or blast it with a hair drier real quick before you tug on any wraps, the edges may just chip off

(Whether or not its sealed in a bag condensation may form inside so dont use it for a while)

Thank you all for your advice, unfortunately I had to destroy one cell (I think it was already ruined though from the heat, it must have shorted) by using a method I do NOT recommended anyone use.

The only way to get it out was pry at the positive using it to lever it out, it really was jammed in there.

The two in the other mod are ok, still had to lever them but from the edge, so the wraps are destroyed but luckily have more.

As it was both the cuboid with re wrapped cells I will only use my newer ones that have the original wrap- it seems with both of mine they are very temperamental to tolerance width of the 18650.

I did go to attempt the method of removing the top and board, but was met with dreaded security style screws, unfortunately I didn’t have one for the size of the mods (typical) but have them working back in my collection :)
