Hi There,

Having trouble with this forum? I'm a fast typer and it doesn't seem to be keeping up with me at all???

Anyhow I've posted this once before today, but then couldn't find it and it says I've posted no threads, so a little baffled in Cumbria..lol.

I'm trying to find the best starter kit vapourcig??? I've been researching for about 2 weeks. I've previously bought 4 of the e-cig kits, which I didn't get along with and I'm trying to find the best vapourcig so I don't keep wasting my money. I've narrowed it down to the Itaste v3, the EGO CE5+ or the Jacvapour v1p, but there are good and bad reviews for each. I think I'd prefer the Itaste one as you can adjust strength etc and I smoke mild menthol ciggies (and I'm an asthmatic) so I can't take a really strong throat hit or an e-cig that dries your throat out. However, I do like some hit to the throat and love menthol. However I cant find anywhere that sells just a battery for this unit that I can use as a spare, so I'm reluctant to buy a kit with just one battery? Also although some reviews are good, users who've had them longer have complained of the buttons getting wobbly and the unit falling apart? The EGO seems good as it comes with a spare everything, seems good value and has good reviews. The Jacvapour has the best reviews I've found, but I wanted advice before purchasing. I'm dreading having to then choose the e-liquid as I didn't have much luck with the e-cig flavours, but I'm really excited about potentially finding a combination that will help me cut down on the evil ciggies. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the planet. For what its worth I would recommend an Evod starter kit. These are very good and you get 2 batteries. Also you can buy replacement elements for the evod or you can repair them with wire and wick. The repairing part is quite good and plenty of you tube video on the subject. This then gives you the confidence to try other rebuildables. As far as the juice is concerned that's an individual thing as every body is different. Check out the marketplace and discount tags on the top of the page for great kit % off. Hope this helps. Enjoy your journey

hey, I started with the ego which I promptly replaced and used as backup for my innokin mvp 2.0 which comes with the i30 clearomiser good bit of kit which I picked uo for £37 including delivery

Trying to find the best starter kit is a bit like trying to find the best colour socks. There isn't a right answer that fits everyone.

Here's some general guidelines though:

i) don't buy a cig-a-like kit. The quality of vape you get from them isn't great and more importantly the amount of nicotine they deliver, especially to a new user, is low compared to the larger alternatives, and when you first decide to switch over is usually when you use the highest strength liquids. cig-a-likes have their place, and Jac ones are some of the better ones available, but the difference between a variable voltage eGo with a good clearomiser on it compared to a cig-alike is night and day.

ii) there are 2 components you need to think about the battery itself and the atomiser/clearomiser (the bit that holds the liquid) both the Innokin itaste v3 and an eGo are good battery choices. Though get a battery that has variable voltage and/or variable power settings. It will last you longer than a fixed voltage one and gives you more control about the vape you experience. Get a branded eGo if you go for an eGo. the good brands for eGos are: Janty, JoyeTech, AnyVape, SmokTech and Vision.

As far as clearomisers go don't get a bog standard CE5 type. The best budget ones around are the mini ProTank or mini davide tanks (for those sized batteries) which are both made of glass. Glass tanks are better, though more expensive than plastic tanks. good plastic tanks (which are fine with the majority of e-liquids) include the EVOD and the Aspire types, both of which are under £5

iii) it is going to dry your throat out, a least a little. This is normal and it tends to go away once you get more used to vaping. It happens for lots of reasons one of the main ones is that PG and VG will both dehydrate you a bit. Drinking more water than you used to can help with this quite a bit.

There are hundreds and hundreds of e-liquids out there. While this is a bit daunting and confusing when you first start out, it does mean that somewhere out there is a liquid you will love and once you find some of them it's highly likely that you'll never want to smoke again.

Welcome to the planet! there are loads of great members here who can probably answer any question you have about vaping.

Hi Guys, Thank you so much for your quick responses. Funnily enough I've just spotted a thread recommending EVOD's and MOD's. Sorry to sound dumb but what are these and what's the difference between these and the EGO etc ? I'm just looking a few of your recommendations up on these and they look really cool...lol. And good value. Although a lady, I'm quite good with DIY and handy stuff so I think I'd like the extra maintenance, it will keep my hands busy too. I'm currently rolling up and it takes me a long time as I roll enough for the day, so I'm qquite keen to find a vapourcig that will help me cut down and have some me time..lol.

personally i started on a ego starter kit which came with a spare battery (although you can buy spares seperatley for about £8-£12), the down side of this is the wicks burn out quickly (depending on the user but for me it was about 2-4 weeks) although the wick itself is non replaceable new clearomizers (the lil tank) can be brought for a few pounds. although i would really recommend a pro tank.
you can get variable voltage batteries this is always handy as you can change it and find your sweet spot, with the right flavor/throat hit for you (:

anyways welcome to the vaping world and enjoy (:

So you're a tinkerer huh :)

In that case give the Aspire head items a miss for a while. I'd recommend you use a clearomiser/atomiser that use the ProTank heads. Which is basically a Davide mini a protank2 mini or an evod.

Evods are the name given to a style of atomiser made by the company Kanger. They also make eGo looky likey batteries which are basically the same as eGos and go nicely with their evod atomisers. I've never actually tried one so I can't tell you from experience whether they are decent, though I've heard good things about them mostly.

Mods are basically bigger and more advanced versions of the eGo and come in all shapes and sizes and have extra bells and whistles too.

While they are mostly great it's better to start small and get a itaste v3 or an eGo to begin with. One thing with vaping is you need a backup. If your battery needs charging then you can't vape it. If your battery breaks you want to have something available to use in the meantime while you replace/fix it so a v3 or an eGo (especially if it's variable voltage) will serve you well as a good backup if you decide to go for bigger and shinier mods later on.

Halifax I've bought two of them kits from vapeland for father in law and nephew. Great value kits and some brill reviews.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for all your help. So could I use the Kanger protank with the EGO kit that's linked to above? Is the protank a rebuildable one, BCC or whatever it is, or is this a throwaway version? What are the pro's of a pro tank? Over a clearomiser? I've only found one vv EVOD, but it's a bit pricey for me unfortunately.
