What's new

Help! New to Vaping and baffled by options..lol Need the best starter kit?

Dont panic! welcome to the planet, one thing is for sure whatever you start with is just that, a starter, and within no time you will be on to the next thing ,with this in mind think of the £££££££s there are a lot of mods you will want so dont over do it at the start................... this is just my take on it but i have just finished giving away my start up kit :grin2:

You can use the protank and evod tanks/clearomisers (clearos for short) with all ego batteries. The coils within these tanks are both replaceable and rebuildable and of course, the tanks are re-useable, just give them a wash out and allow to dry or dry-burn the coil, fill up with e-liquid and off you go again! :) - there are plenty of videos and tutorials in the 'How To' section of the site and the Wiki.

BCC means (I seem to remember!) bottom coil clearomiser - so these are clearomisers where the coil unit is located in the base of the tank. If you see a tank labelled BDC, it means Bottom Dual Coil - the coil unit contains two coils.

You'll find most protanks can be called a clearomiser - an atomiser with a clear tank or a glassomiser - an atomiser with a glass tank.

The lingo is a bit confusing to start with, but have a look at vape shops, videos and hang around here for a while, ask any questions you need to know and you'll soon get used to it :D

Hi Guys and thanks,

(Don't panic) lo that's my problem I set my mind on trying a new quit smoking thing and I get carried away EVERY TIME!!!!!. I cant just buy a tester. I've got to get the whole kit and caboodle, that then gets thrown in a drawer in disgust, with the others I've bought! But I've been good so far and I'm just researching currently. I'm trying to spend the weekend watching videos on the different options i.e. EVOD vv and EVOD mini protank? are favourites currently, but the weather here is shocking (which affects connection up in the wilds..lol) So what's the differance/benefit of having a protank rather than a clearomiser??

Horses for courses, Protank holds more liquid than a clearomiser and you can clean it out and reuse and put new coils in. The clearo's are for the most part disposable. Personal choice really.

Help again

hey, I started with the ego which I promptly replaced and used as backup for my innokin mvp 2.0 which comes with the i30 clearomiser good bit of kit which I picked uo for £37 including delivery

Hi There, I'm still researching, been on it all day again!! I'd settled on an EGO C Twist with clearomiser or Vivi nova, but I cannot find a UK seller that sells the twin kit anywhere, for the life of me!!! It's driving me nuts.

Could you tell me where you bought your MVP with I30 from for £37 please?

Cheers

hi, for me i feel i wasted time and money at first but then got a vamo with a protank, and ive never looked back. having that i could turn it up and down made a huge difference for me as i could have a strong vape in the morning and ease off as the day went on. first vamo lasted me 11 months then the thread gave in, just got a new one from fast tech and its pure bliss have also got an mvp for back up.
hope this helps

there are definitely vendors out there that sell a VV eGo starter kit with two batteries :)

most vendors that carry the MVP kits are priced around the £40 mark. Lots of them will have a discount code which is normally about 10% so you can pick one up in some places for that kind of price.

ProTanks are better than plastic clearomisers because the tank is made from glass. Some e-liquids can cause problems with polycarbonate plastics, you don't get any of those problems if you use a glass tank.

Update!!

Hi Guys, Thank you so much for all of your useful advice. I am now the proud owner of a Ego C Twist with CE5 and a Vision Spinner with an Iclear 16s and a Kangertech T3S (still waiting for those to arrive...lol)

I'm getting on really well with the Ego and thanks to you guys, I have two menthol flavours that I actually really like, so I got lucky there, finding two on my first attempt at finding the perfect menthol hit.

Only started vaping yesterday, so I'm still smoking the odd ciggie (4 so far) I feel guilty doing so but it's early days yet. As I've said previously, I'm an asthmatic and smoke very mild menthol roll ups. I'm struggling a bit drawing on the CE5??? Could anyone recommend a clearo/tank etc that has a looser draw (if that's the right term???) I'm hoping that you're going to say the Iclear 16 or T3S have an easier/looser draw...lol. But if not, no problem, I'll get what you recommend anyhow.TT

Thanks again, you've all been so helpful welcoming and friendly.

Cheers Dawn

Cant go wrong with Ego Twist or Vision Spinner, great little batteries to start exploring the world of VV.

Out of the clearomisers you have purchased, my preference would be the iClear 16 and the iClear 30 is worth a look.

Moving forward I cannot recommend the MVP2 highly enough, great piece of kit...

As long as you have a standard 510 thread battery you should be able to use most clearomisers. atomisers or cartomiseres no matter where you buy them, if you use a clearomiser with a top wick/atomiser , you will get a warmer vape, and the bottom wick/atomiser will give you a cooler vape. The different clearomisers will burn through the ejuice some faster than others so you need to try out different ones, as someone said already what's the best colour for socks? it's all about choice that's why consumer goods come in different brands. As for the asthma you could try a higher VG in the mix as it is more gentle on the throat , but the downside is it takes more toll on the atomiser so they won't last as long. PG absorbs water so keep sipping water to make up for the loss. And good luck with finding something that suits you.
