So I am about to get a Chi You mechanical clone, and i would love some help in making a nice build for it. Something that will put out some clouds and wont break the bank.
Please keep in mind I have no experience with these things so please keep the builds at least fairly simple (I don't mind a bit of research)
I need help picking a topper (was thinking the GG Ithaka clone) as well as batteries (protected 18650s) a charger, and a good build. What do you recommend (silica wick, wool, mesh, wiring, wrap numbers, the whole deal.)
Any and all help would be MUCH appreciated.
And if I didn't have to break the bank that would be wonderful haha XD

For big clouds go for a inexpensive dripper to start with. Something like the IGO L is a good starting dripper. For clouds you'll have to open up the air holes on the dripper. No more than 6ml of nicotine in a juice that's almost 100% VG. If your going to sub ohm make sure you have the proper cell's (battery's). Nothing off Ebay or that has fire in the name. I buy my cell's (battery's) from Orbtronics. They sell top shelf cells. I use Sony 18650 VTC4 & VTC5's for sub ohming. Where are you located? https://www.orbtronic.com/

Ithaka. You need no res res premade wires. Its a fussy bugger. If this is you first crack at rebuildables, I would suggest something like a trident dripper clone. Its got adjustable air flow control, can be single or dual coiled (remember dual coiling halves the resistance of each individual coil assuming and they should be equal). Dont scrimp as there are some real shit clones out there, get advice on a reputable local dealer. Other options are the US made patriot which is pretty affordable or the youde range of atomisers.

The reason I suggest a dripper is you eliminate one of the two parts of rebuildables ie getting the juice from the tank to the coil in the correct quantity, its not much of an issue but easier to start off with if you control the juice.

For supplies, 28gauge kanthal and cottin is a good start and a micro coil is the easiest route to success youtube riptrippers for some good guides, cell wise, I personally prefer to use 18650 cells but I use very low resistance builds, I would suggest you start at 1.5ohm and go from there.

Which brings us to the next thing, checking resistance, someone telling you wraps kanthal gauge etc isn't going to cut it, you either need a multimeter and the knowledge to use it or a 510 resistace checker - you screw your atomiser on and it reports your build resistance, if you have a variable voltage/variable wattage device, this will likely be able to read resistance too.

The reason for doing this is you need to calculate you current draw to ensure your cells are safe to fire the build BEFORE YOU FIRE IT. it will also tell you if you have a dead short (0.0 ohms) dead shorting cells is not something you want to do.

It sounds pat but first things first, watch sone youtube build videos, they will give you an idea of both what tools and supplies you need as well as what safety aspects you need to consider.

You can also check any devices you are considering and see if they have been reviewed and if so, how people get on with them.

For cells and a charger. Its hard to beat sony vct4 18650 30a cells and charger wise, I would look at an efest soda or luc or one of the xtar range. Scrimp on neither one of these items. A good charher with a decent charge rate safe for your cells is well worth investing in. For 18650 cells I would consider 1a per bay a minimum, and 1.5a per bay a bonus.

Hope this all helps, it sounds expensive and intimidating because to start with, it is, its easily mastered though with research and practice.

Man, thank you all so much. I was actually looking at the IGO L and the Helios yesterday and thought maybe the IGO was a better fit, but i did like the possibilities that you have with the Helios. But I think the IGO is a bit my speed haha

And I am located in America. Texas to be more specific.

In that case Orbtronic are your friend battery & charger wise - located in Florida, as mentioned by Scuba matt.

I couldn't get my pictures to upload, however all of my parts came in and the whole is amazing. Thank you all, I couldn't have done it without y'all [:
