Hi all,

Brand new to this vaping stuff, bought an innokin kroma-r on Saturday and have been tobacco free since! it’s been great at stopping me craving fags!

anyway, I’ve been looking for the answer to how many puffs on an ecig are the same as smoking a whole cigarette but can’t find one. Is there an answer?

I vape 6mg juice if that makes any difference!

Cheers

Hi and welcome :D

It depends really on how strong your liquid is, obviously 12mg would be less puffs than 6mg and so on.

Google says the average cig has about 10-12mg in it, so at 6mg you would need to vape about 2ml to get the same amount of nicotine as one cig.

You don't actually absorb every bit of nic in a cig though, so basically vape till you feel satisfied and then put it down.

it takes me about 2-3 days to get through a 2ml tank so does that mean I’m only vaping the equivalent of 1 cig every 2-3 days?! Amazing if so :2thumbsup:

Don't think it's workable. You only absorb about 1mg per cigarette despite the 12mg content. Cigarettes use additives to aid absorption. One of the reasons they're so addictive. No idea if experiments have been done on absorption rates from ejuice which lack the additional chemicals that cigarettes contain. So many other variables; draw length; time holding it in. I think making direct comparisons is pretty futile if I'm honest. Others might know more than me tho.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on quitting smoking.

Yeah I figured from my Googling that it was likely a hard question to answer. Would be a handy thing to know if any one did ever properly look into it!

Welcome @Bruben and well done for quitting the stinkys

As has been said, there's not an accurate way to work it out.... and to be honest it doesn't really matter. Vape what you need to vape to keep you from smoking.

a mil a day of 6mg isn't a lot but everyone is different. I was vaping 5ml a day of 12mg when I first switched, that's what I needed.

If it's keeping you from smoking and stopping you climbing the walls then it's working, so just stick with it... and well done. :)

Hi.
As said don't think you can compare directly.

Nice one on quiting.

6mg is fairly low starting point so well done.
Most start at about 18mg.

Just go with what is comfortable for you and slowly work down if you want to.

Cheers Simon!

I don’t know why, but I had it in my head that I wanted to vape less than I was smoking (smoked about 12 roll ups a day). That was the reason for the question
