basicly as the title says I've bought a broken Vamo V2 and fixed it, i know it takes stacked 350's or a single 650, but I'm sure i read somewhere that it can take a single 350 but when i take the end cap and extension off the end cap doesn't screw on to what's left, to be fair I can't remember where i read it so i could be making it up. can anyone enlighten me cos i'd like to be able to out and about with a 350 in it cos it's bloody hugh in 650 mode.

You should indeed be able to put in a single 18350.

Do you know how old your vamo is?

I ask because mine, the bit under the button is push fit, so you couldn't take it off, meaning you only had the main body and an extension tube.

The later version, you can also take out the middle section, giving you three.

If it's the three piece, possibly you are trying to attach the wrong bit.. only speculating mind :)

hi thanks for the reply.

Not sure on age of it, it has the big spring in the bottom and it's a light metalic blue like a blue chrome, don't know if that helps for working out age of it.

It must be a push fit cos i can't shift it by hand and i don't really wanna stick it in a vice just yet as i only got it saterday i'll just use me mech or ego for out and about.

If it's a push fit, it's about the same as mine :)

So literally, all you SHOULD have to do, is take off the extension cap and put the bottom cap straight onto the middle section.

If this doesn't work I really don't know what to suggest.. cos it should :D

Sorry not to be more help.

I thought thas how it should work but for some reason even though all the sections fit together perfectly for 650 mode the end cap won't screw onto just middle section so I can use a 350 in it.

The cap will go on to the middle section thread and hold enough to use a 350 but not enough that I'm happy to use it out in the wild as It's only held on with not even a 8th of a turn so it's just hanging on by a gnats cock.

How very strange. Unless the spring is that big that it's not compressing enough to fit?

Other than that, no idea, as if it was cross threaded you would assume it wouldn't all fit together in the first instance... peculiar.

It's deffo a push fit just managed to twist the middle section off, yep somethings not right with the threads i'll just use it for home. Thanks for all your help Vapemonkey1980 think we can call this case closed. Thanks again.

jayh you say there is something wrong with the threads on the fixed section. That puzzles me, check the threads in the extension to see if they are damaged. If they are then it has been forced on at some time in it's life, Cross threaded. That would explain why the extension fits and the end cap won't.
If you wanted to use it in 350 only, you could force the end cap on and off a few times to recut the thread in that, so it fits on better.
Either that or if you know someone with a tap & dye set, recut all the threads to match each other.

Just to check: your mid-section on the V2 is press-fit up into the control section, and male threaded below. Your extension tube should be female threaded up into that, and male threaded below. The end cap is female threaded, and certainly ought to thread straight into the middle section.

Can you post pictures of the offending device? I don't recall if there's a minimum post limit for pics, or not.

I might add, though, that I find the firing button is too low down, almost central, in 18350 mode, so I've gone back to 18650.

remnant yep thas correct, i've checked all the threads and they look ok it's not really a problem i've only got 1 350 battery and 6 650's it was more of a curiosity question i only paid £18 on ebay for it cos it was broken i only had to resolder the wires back on and put it back together. Like i said it more out of curiosity i've got a habit of reading things then not remembering where i read it so i think my minds just made it up.
