How to reduce steep time

Depends really on the ingredients but I have found it never really goes go off..I like steeping for 3 months or so..I keep my 72mg nic in a lightproof bag in the fridge and it rarely changes colour even after 6 months plus

Another question if you kind apes don't mind; after mixing this stuff up, let's say it's steeped suitably and tastes fine after a couple of weeks, how long is it OK to keep in the bottle before it goes off? Assuming a dark cupboard somewhere at room temperature and that once opened it's vaped within a week. My goal is to make batches that should last at least two or three months at a time and I don't really want the last of a batch to taste too different to the start of the next batch (if that makes sense).

I’ve never had any go off, and often have bottles that have been sitting for 6 months or more. I’ve found some after at least a year which tasted excellent. I had no idea what concentrates were in it after all that time, mind.

But if you are worried you can always keep a big batch in the fridge.

Thanks everyone that’s just what I wanted to hear. I think I definitely need to get some different vg and pg though. This ELFC stuff seems to have a distinct yet bland aftertaste that I can do without. Where do you get yours from @zouzounaki ?

I always get vg and pg from either lucemill or lubrisolve, depending which is cheaper when I’m ordering it. Both are very good.

Thanks. The implication is that you agree not all vg/pg is the same, right?

Not really, it’s not all the same, but I’ve never had bad vg or pg, and have never been able to tell any difference between the lucemill, lubrisolve or the smaller bottles I got when I started mixing years ago. There shouldn’t be much taste or smell from either.

You could try puffing some of them both straight to test them out. But I’m not sure they can go far wrong, off pg or vg I would be thinking must contain impurities and def have me never ordering from that vendor again.

Vegetable Glycerine can be derived from multiple bases with rape seed, soybean, coconut or palm oils being pretty common.
It stands to reason not all VG's will be the same and some will be noticably sweeter depending on what its derived from.

Glycerin is a chemical compound. The sweetness comes from it’s chemical structure, which is related to sugar. The source of it has no effect on it’s qualities. It’s mostly labelled as 99-99.9% pure.

That’s interesting. The taste I’m getting is not sweet at all - I could stomach that as I have a famously sweet tooth. It’s difficult to articulate exactly but I’d describe it as an artificial type of flavour with a peppery sort of after taste. It’s not the flavours or the nic (as I’ve changed those), can only be the pg/vg or oaf doing the mixing - which in all fairness it might be!

If adding 72mg freebase nic to a mix it needs to steep for a few weeks if this is not the case vape might be peppery like.
Also make sure mix is correct using mix calculator..
