Hello all, I hope this is in the correct section. Right.... just started vaping yesterday and am currently on 14mg of spearmint which I find pretty nice. My problem is though when I bought my e-cig I also ordered 2x50ml of hangsen 24mg gold and silver. I do though find this a little strong so can anybody suggest how much pg liquid to add to tone it down to say....... 14-16mg or is it all just trial and error????

if you tone it down just by adding pg or vg, you'll also most likely destroy the flavour

however, 18 is three quarters of 24...

so for every 7.5 of "what you have now", you must add 2.5 of pg or vg to dilute it to 18mg...*if* I was doing this, I would do it that way, knock it down to 18mg...maybe a 10ml sample, and see how the strength and flavour holds up

so take 7.5ml of your current juice, add 2.5ml of pg, and mix it up in a 10ml bottle and evaluate

Personally, if I were diluting, I'd add VG to a pre-mix, as the PG content is usually on the high side anyway. You may also want to factor in some extra flavour

Thank you very much for your help. That sounds like a great idea and I have bought some smaller bottles. I am however waiting for some syringes to be delivered before I can really do any mixing so it might have to just wait for now. Which may not be a bad idea as this morning ive had an urge for a roll up (which I guess is to be expected) so maybe having a stronger liquid available for now may not be such a bad idea. Thank you again for the help though vern

I started on 18mg and knocked it down to 16mg- though I seem to vape much less nicotine than I smoked.
You know when you've overdone the nicotine, as your head feels a bit woolly- it passes quickly enough. However, people tend to like to vape throughout the day, and adjust strength to enable them to do so without getting too much nicotine.

You could have one clearo with the stronger juice in it for when the craving's stronger and shift to the weaker stuff for the chain-vaping

if you dont have syringes, you can always count drops.
seventy five drops of this, twenty five drops of that.
assuming the bottle drippers nozzle opening thingy are the same...we're working in ratios.

and for giggles, we can do 3 drops of this and one drop of that....easy stuff

That's exactly what I have set up at the moment fleabag, im taking a spearmint (weaker, which I prefer) and then a cart of stronger tobacco for if I get any urges later in the day at work. Thanks for the tips vern but im afraid my patience wouldn't last past around 5 drips hahahaha I have however got some syringes on order and just waiting for delivery, im hoping perhaps today then I can start mixing my own over the weekend. Im guessing that mixing your own is all pretty much trial and error too is it guys???? start weak and add more to taste????

yes...and start small...5ml bottles 10ml bottles. write down everything so when you find what you lik eyou can duplicate it again and again.
use the mixing calculator at the top of this forum, or the potv mixing app on google play store for android to work out how much to use.
the nic part is dangerous so make sure you are comfortable with what you are doing and why

Pretty much. The POTV calculator is better than most, as it also includes VG/PG ratios (most just give a total measurement for those). There's also a calculator app that lets you save recipes.

I was mixing pretty much from the outset, and it's really easy. I started out just doing 10ml at a time until I found my preferred PG/VG ratio (50/50). I now make up about 30ml at time without the flavour added (obviously adjusting quantities so that you meet target strength and VG/PG once flavour is added later). I do this with a target of 20% flavour. Then I can just pop the flavours in a bottle and add the unflavoured mix.
Though if in a hurry, I pop a few drops of flavour in a clearo, add the unflavoured base and I'm ready to go (though this means I can't steep it first).

When blending a new mix, I base it on smell on the first attempt and perhaps start at about 15% flavour, so I can add a little more of one or more flavour later and still stay within 20%. The only exceptions for me are flavours using pineapple or mango, which are too strong to use at 20% (certainly the 28 Vapes Later). Then only the taste test will tell you if the flavour strength/balance is right (and only then after steeping for a true test of final result). Then next time you make that blend, you'll tweak a bit.

Fully agree on that but I relied on the phone and I had to restore it and Boom no recipes :banghead:

Small note book now added to mixing box :D
