How will TPD permeate in reality?

Hey all, it's another TPD thread!

Sorry, I have read through quite a few threads, but had a few thoughts, wanted to get your opinions?

So, equipment-wise, I can't see that batteries come under much fire (lol, so punny!) and I can't see how you could ban them anyway. They are just batteries! Maybe someone can create a lightbulb with a 510 connection and we can say they are torches?! Seems a bit odd given that most vape-related injuries are down to the batteries rather than anyone dousing themselves in nicotine...?

Leak-proof tanks? Would tanks like the Melo2 with the juice refilling slot suffice? Personally I like this design, does that mean we will see more like this? And how on earth would customs be able to sniff out an imported tank anyway? Or coils for "banned" tanks?

Juices: no high nic levels. But can you still buy bottles of nicotine and DIY? Or is this where the black market comes in to it? Again, I can totally see smuggling being too hard to control.

What's the deal with 0 nic juices, will they get regulated? If not, surely you could just sell 0 nic juices and we will have to add our own nicotine? Seems stupid and more risk of hazards, but hey, nothing makes sense anyway!

And if you DIY juices, I can't see that any part of this is a problem, they won't stop selling VG and PG or flavour concentrates, so it's just the availability of nicotine?

When this goes through, I'm going to become a massive vaping vigilante. Although I can see a world where TPD doesn't make much difference. I didn't get into vaping after watching an advert. Vape sites are already more regulated than porn sites, etc

Am I just rose-tinting? I realise part of the problem is that most of this is as of yet unquantified, so it's all speculation, but I wanted to hear if my logic is totally flawed?

It's interesting to me as someone living in Cairo, I just discovered that the Egyptian authorities banned everything to do with e-cigs back in Feb, but you would never know it! More and more I see people vaping in pubs, there are a handful of homegrown juice ranges that aren't half bad, and if I want a US premium juice or a bit of kit, I only have to make a phone call and it's delivered the same day! We have a handful of vape shops, which is not bad for an outlawed product in a city where the majority of people are too poor to afford it and too ignorant of health issues to care! Because it's just a very difficult thing to actually regulate!

vapers are fast becoming the new "Doomsday Preppers" and the TPD will definitely rival Y2K in it's infamy for being a epic failure in its scaremongeryifficness.

E-cigs and nicotine products are also banned here in Belgium, I just buy from Holland and UK.
TPD may affect me but I doubt it, regulation never stopped me buying anything before...

Hehehe, I lol'd!

Yes, I guess that's kind of what I'm getting at. Initially it all sounds draconian and over the top (oh no wait, it IS!) but in reality it seems pretty tough to implement.

At the end of the day, vapers gonna vape!

Nicotine products are banned? Surely that includes cigarettes...? I can't see that working! Wow!

Hey! A lot of IT people spent a lot of hours preparing for and ensuring Y2K wouldn't be the doomsday everyone was worried about.

It's Y2k38 that you want to worry about, which is when any computers still running a 32bit architecture will be unable to count time any more. ;)

On topic:

I think we could see a number of things. The thing that concerns me most is the requirement that ingredients must be shown to be safe for human inhalation. How does one do this? It seems to be very close to trying proving a negative - Can you assure the government that these ingredients wont harm human health when inhaled?

The 10ml at a time thing is dumb as hell in a world where you can buy any number of more dangerous chemicals in larger quantities, but it isn't that big a deal. We'll just buy smaller bottles and more of them. Hopefully the manufacturers will swallow the cost of smaller bottles rather than passing them on.

I don't think the >20mg nic ban will be a big deal. I started on 18mg, and thought that was strong! 20mg should be fine for most people surely? (I realise that's an argument from personal experience, oh well.)

Overall, I think they're going to have a hard time enforcing parts of it, given the TPD was pretty much out of date from the get go. Like, is a dripper a "tank" or not? Some of the TPD may even drive some innovation in the market as companies come up with new devices to circumvent it.

How can they stop me buying wire, Rubber O rings and 22mm glass tubes? All I will ever need to keep the subtank mini running. Sure it will be boring but I will survive

IF they bring it in, in full force, everything will still be available, just not in the UK or Europe. The only negative effects will be to the UK economy and unemployment figures. You hard earned cash will be supporting the Chinese economy instead of our own.

I'm not in the least fazed by it all the EU TPD bollox I have enough 36mg juice to last years and I will get more in the new year.I also have mech mods on the way and more batteries,I rebuild my own UTA V2 tanks of which I have three and enough wire to wrap the necks of the EU TPD supporters and strangle all :18:
