What's new

How will TPD permeate in reality?

to me the line that showed and still shows they have fuck all clue is this one.

'Refillable tanks will still be permitted under the TPD. Tanks will be limited to 2ml in size and rules to make refill mechanisms ‘leak free’ will be introduced'

in my mind anything you can refill can leak. if theirs a way to put juice in then their is a way juice can get out.

At this point, nobody knows, but I'm not sure how that would work in practice. Would you have to click a button when buying any tank larger than 2ml online, confirming you absolutely solemnly promise to never ever vape nicotine in it? ;)

While I wish this was likely, I'm not sure even our government is stupid enough to allow such a loophole.

Our government is stupid enough to allow a guy who face fucked a pig to lead. Think again my friend!

Fair point, 'Pigsmouth Strikes Again' was one of The 'Ian Duncan Smiths' best tracks at the recent protests at the Tory party conference in Manchester :)

It's nonsense anyway tbh, because nicotine isn't a tobacco product. Tobacco and it's derivatives are tobacco products. :D

Unfortunately, nicotine is a derivative of tobacco, as the safest and most cost effective way of producing it is by extraction from said plants. This is true in the insecticide industry too, one of the other major users of the compound. Sucks, but it's enough of a link to bring vaping into the environs of the TPD.

Oh, I thought that most pharmaceutical grade nicotine was synthetically produced? What I was getting at is that nicotine isn't exclusive to tobacco, it's in a plethora of things including fruit and veg! Tomatoes have some of the higher levels I think.

So basically, if eliquid is regulated under the TPD because it can contain nicotine, shouldn't tomatoes and whatever else be regulated under the TPD too? :D

This looks like an example of what TPD-compliant sub-ohm kits will be like (Aura Mini Kit):

Well that's not too bleak a future. (Although still relieved to have discovered vaping and bought my kit pre-tpd!)
