If it's anything like the original Ares 2 I had the same problem using the cotton that came with it and some random cotton squares from another brand. I bought some Kendo Gold cotton and it's using a LOT less liquid now.
I'm still new to rebuilding so I'm not 100% that's what made the difference but it's all I can think of. This Kendo cotton is a lot denser than the other stuff but wicks like a charm, not one dry hit yet.
