What's new

juice buy or make your own?

I make loads up and never worn gloves, no problems here, once you get a cycle going you will always have steeped juice at the ready

I do both, use the pre made stuff as as when u can't be bothered, although there is a degree of satisfaction of making the juice, anticipation while its steeping and the final out come usually results in letting the misses taste it, if she says that's far to sweet and sickly then it's a winner!

I've been a DIYer from the moment I started vaping (well I had 10ml of menthol liquid to start me off, then I started mixing). I find most pre adds are disappointing and lack strength of flavour, although that does seem to be changing. As for price at the most (with high levels of top quality flavours) my bottles cost 67p for 10ml! It also teaches patience which is something I did not have when I started :)

I've just read the Guide to Mixing by @Grizwald56 on the wiki. Flamin' hell,it looks laborious! Think I'll stick to premixed for now,but I would like to be mixing within the next few months.

As Grizwald56 says,pre-mixed juices seem to be quite inconsistent in terms of flavour. One bottle has bags of flavour then the next one your buy doesn't. I recently bought some Hangsen hazelnut. Loved it,for I go for the sweet, nutty ones. I can all day vape those,no problem at all. When it ran out I bought some Hangsen hazelnut coffee. Hangsen's coffee as an individual flavour isn't exactly awesome, but it's erm,well....ok. But the premixed combination of the two was pretty tasteless to say the least, very drying on the mouth and bitter. Really disappointing. The individual hazelnut flavour certainly isn't. I love it and would be keen to hear of any other brands of hazelnut out there. So many times I've vaped a premixed and thought "I wish there was a bit more (insert flavour here) in the mix", so home mixing must be the answer in the longrun.

I also recently had a 100ml bottle of Hangsen Virginia Tobacco. It tasted great until I was about halfway through the bottle. I still have a third of it,which I'll vape for the sake of a nic hit until it's gone, but it's pretty bitter and tasteless now. I won't be buying that particular flavour again. I am,on the other hand, going to grab a 100ml of Hangsen RY4 for £14 this weekend. For that price can you complain? Some people have compared the tobacco flavour in Hangsen RY4 with that of the Virginia, but I don't detect the similarity. They're vastly different, but hey, batch to batch things seem to change. In fact,I can't even taste the tobacco in the Virginia and I was recently accused,by a local vendor, of having shot taste buds!

Lmfao, it seems like everyone recommends that post but imho it's the perfect post to completely scare the pants off those on the verge of wanting to give diy a shot. It's certainly a brilliant post, it's probably a post that needs to be read and then reread and then read again, and it covers all the essentials, BUT it scared me away...

I'll probably reread it after this post... again...

However, if you can make a cup of coffee then you can do mixology. It's a bit like chess, it looks complicated, but is in fact really easy to learn, but then, I guess, it takes a lifetime to master. Having said that, I've only been vaping 3 months or so and only mixing a few weeks but have some really nice juices now.

These are the best vids I've seen on diy and after watching them realised how easy it really is.

The last one will explain noob style about calculators - I personally preder Ejuice Me Up to spreadsheets, although this is probably because I'm a lazy sod.

Anyway, all these vids will show you how easy it is, and then all you have to do is live in the mixology sections of forums to nail down the details.

(Note: I haven't included the www to the vids because I didn't want to litter up this thread)

If you're mixing your own I would recommend using the PoTV's mixing calculator. http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/apps/mixing_calculator.php

I also suggest having bottles with measurements on them and writing down the mixtures, keep playing with it until you find one that's best for you.
Personally I use Hangsen liquid as the strength and taste remains the same throughout.

Thanks for using our products, vapourtorium. :welcome1: We will try our best to provide the best e-liqids. ^_^

Hi not been vapin long but I make my own now, pg from ebay 500ml, vg 200ml from a well know chemist chain, capella flavour drops from Leisure liquids 10ml, I costed it including postage to spain and I have cut the cost down by more than half!!!!!! I do 70/30 pg/vg, 15% flavour, and 2ml nic (I make 10ml bottles).
Hope that helps :)

DIY is only as hard or complicated as you want it to be. Personally I'm of the school of keeping it simple. Most of the time it's just a matter of vg, Nic, water and a flavour or 2, stick it in a bottle, give it a shake and wait a week and hope for the best! Yes you can pre mix and mix down again and treat it like a major science experiment or you can just get on and have some fun :) there is no right or wrong way as long as it tastes good to you!

Oh and I've been mixing for coming up 2 years and grizwalds guide still confuses the hell out of me :D

hmmmmmm might think about mixing my own..........dont know if its for me as I normally go for a easy life but could be interesting to say the least
