Keeping track of your batteries

Hi vapervince :)

I bought 100 clear 18650 battery wraps from Fastech in October 2020. I write on a small slip of paper, hold it on the battery, then slip the wrap over it.
Works for me and I've still got lots of wraps left :)

All of my paired batteries are re-wrapped . Each pair has a different wrap so they cant get mixed up with my others. A few years ago I bought super hero wraps from Fastect, got about 8 different wraps so plenty to keep me going.
Makes me smile everytime I swap them out.

Sticky dots stolen from work....you'll never take me alive copper!

I have maybe 20 mods in rotation at any one time. Each has it's own cell(s) so no chance of mixing them up. The cells in my DNA mods are left in to charge and any others are removed from their mods, charged on the Xtar and put back in again.

Probably gonna get flack for this question but .
My mod can charge the batteries and shows good levels etc.
I do have one of those intelligent chargers think it's labelled I3 yellow stripe on box .as I used to vape years ago before the mods could charge.

Is it not good to charge the batteries in the mod ?

never a stupid question.
as i believe it single battery mods are ok to charge using usb as some have pass through (i think thats what its called) which means you can still vape it while charging.
but tbh its always best to use an external charger.
even though every mod has a usb port and comes with a cable a lot are for mod software upgrades. saying that ive got over 50 mods and have never updated one as over the years weve seen too many bricked mods after failed updates (especially smok) :)

only yellow chargers i know of that are yellow are nitecore. great make but there has been thousands of fakes found around 5 years ago
does yours look like these https://www.nitecore.co.uk/

Yes that's mine nitecore 4 bank one .
I bought from the shop years ago so I'm pretty sure it's genuine ..
My mod is the smok xpriv
It has battery monitoring
And when I purchased it the guy in shop said it charges via USB.
Uses 2 18650 batteries .
I just replaced them as my charger said they had dropped below accepted voltage ..
That wasn't easy to find out trying to decode what the flashes on the charger led meant ..
Got my batteries from the shop as I been stung with 18650 online before ..
Don't get me wrong the price of batteries has dropped considerably and I'm happy to have spares and cycle .. but do I need to use the bank charger ?

i think it will prolong their life in an external charger but im no expert when it comes to batteries so best wait for others to advise.

Fogstar is our go to online battery shop. 20% code available in the discount section https://www.fogstar.co.uk/

Probably could have saved a little money there.. I got Samsung 2500 batteries at the moment ..
Probably not the best but they working for now , but I will deffo use that site and get some better ones thanks for that .
The vape shop i went to said the Samsung are the best for them as to not being supplied duds

Charge your battery at the lowest amp possible, and don't run right flat before the next charge. And this will make you battery's last longer, loads better than putting lots of amps through them and charging quick. Slow and steady. wins the battery race :)
