Kylin m RTA help

Having a nightmare building on this.

I've followed near enough every wicking tutorial I can find, yet I either end up with a slightly burnt flavour or I'm rained upon with spitting balls of fire which burn my tongue to death.

So - the fix for spitting seems to be 'you need more cotton' - and the fix for a burning taste is 'you need less cotton'!

Currently using ofrf nex mesh and firebolt cotton.

As I say I've tried various methods and varting levels of thinning it out.

If I thin it out and don't use too much cotton in the wells I get great flavour and wicking but pops and spits to a point where I can't feel my tongue for the burning spits.

Wick it with a little less thinning out and seems to vape better but underlying bitter / slightly burnt taste.

Ready to sack this tank off and get something different I've tried everything!!!!

Anyone recommend any builds I may not have tried?

I know it's a different tank but in principle it's the same

I've got a Kylin M on the way so I'll follow this with interest but I've been messing about with a Unity RTA clone this weekend. I've wicked it twice now, both times I get great wicking & amazing flavour but after 3 or 4 hits I start getting a wee bit of juice of my lips. It's crazy the amount of wick it needs & I haven't even come close to a dry hit. I mean, there's so much cotton in there I have to give it a wiggle to screw the tank back together

The thing about the Kylin M is the spring loaded deck to accommodate the cotton. Unless you go over the top with cotton it should be fine. Not enough cotton and it will spit like holy fuck. Just keep trying and be patient, you'll get there in the end. I hit mine first go.

Just found this @gazza1985, Vaping with Vic using bog standard Muji. He says it took him 2 days of pissing around with it to figure it out but I'll try it when I need to rewick. He refused to look at the Kylin M but again, same sort of theory. Wicks it at around the 11 minute mark

It took me several goes to get the unity profile right. Twat of a thing if you cant nail it. The Kylin M is so much easier to wick.

That's great to hear, as mentioned earlier, I've got a Kylin M just a few days away, but I've been playing with the Unity over the weekend & I'm blaming the weather but it's been an inconsistent bugger. First build was too juicy, 2nd build but vaping great until about an hour ago where I got a dry hit out of nowhere so I've been fucking about giving it a trim, seems to be behaving now

What cotton are you using?

I've been using the Wotofo shoelace cotton for the Profile & it's way too dense

Wotofo x fibre cotton is what I've been using on mine, it wicks well but not as efficiently as the unity.

That's what I've been using, it's really dense so I'm looking at alternatives. Did you ditch your Cotton Bacon method then?

Yeah, to be honest I don't really use it or the profile much anymore. Been using my falcon king instead.
