I did my first build on my first rebuildable today I did the coil at 1.14 ohms but found it was a bit of a warm vape and I was getting dry hits. I have just rebuilt it using a 1.54 ohm coil to give a cooler vape and put less cotton in to because I think too much cotton was causing my dry capes but now I get a popping sound any ideas

Should I be covering the juice channel or leaving the uncovered. Also can anyone tell me roughly the right width of cotton to cut from my pad and do I leave the out layers on sorry for so many questions

Hi Paul,
Do you have the original Lemo 1?

I use this one as it has all the attributes of my favourite KayFuns but doesn't tend to leak as much!

I have found that anything below about a 1.2 ohm build can lead to a somewhat hot/dry vape (it all depends on your power source and wattage/voltage of course) so for an unregulated mech-mod I aim for about 1.4 ohms. I build it pretty much like a Kayfun with the cotton cut to about 1/4 of an inch width from a muji pad into a 2.5mm micro-coil. I remove the slightly stiffer layer that makes the pad hold its shape. You need to develop a feel for it snugging into the coil but not so tight that it chokes itself. I used to cut the wick so the fluffed out ends just rested on the build-deck-not IN the juice channels. Now I put the chinmney on and cut the wicks that stick out the top to a few mm above and lightly tamp the cotton down into the well (the so-called Rabbit-Ear method?) This works better for me.

I've always found the Lemo a bit spitty and noisy depending on how much cotton I've loaded it with.

Experimentation is key.
