Looking for a kit

Cheers for the post.

My main problem honestly is that there's so many options (Which is obviously a good thing) that I don't know what to get her! Not sure if this is any good?

I'm lost.

To be honest, I think that's quite steep for just one battery & evod.
Did you say you were thinking of getting a twist? Fewer starter sets include the twist - most offer a basic battery, with choices of the capacity (up to 1300mah as far as I can see).

If after a starter kit, I'd suggest one with 2 batteries and perhaps a couple of clearomisers. I know some would advise caution using FastTech, but as a guide, this kit includes 2 1300mah batteries (so decent capacity), 2 clearomisers, charger etc. That comes to just over £14. Then you might want to get some spare heads of different resistance (I got a few 1.8ohm) and of course some bottles of juice.

If you don't want to chance FastTech, that's fair enough - but I think that's a pretty good example of a good kit to be looking for.

Ego kits with CE4 heads are also common, though the clearomisers are disposable, so you'd need more spares (and are more expensive than just replacing heads)

by the way - I'm speaking as something of a novice myself - I started on CE4s in April - so I'm no expert, but being pretty new, I am quite conscious of the need to strike a balance between effectiveness and simplicity in the early days - Some CE4s were good, some disappointing, the Evod is a step up from CE4 in my view, but is still straightfoward enough for a newcomer.

Hello there,

My mum has been diagnosed with COPD and obviously i want to do everything in my power to stop her smoking so I am looking for a kit that has a decent sized battery and is easy to buy interchangeable parts and whatnot. I'd say battery life would be one of the most important things as she's trying to kick a habit in which she smoked 40+ a day for over 20 years.

She was using Nicolites before and doing OK but one day they just randomly made her feel sick every time she took a draw. I reckon it was because of the tobacco flavour because there was a point where she actually lit a proper tab up, took a draw and had to stub it out because it tasted horrible and made her feel sick.

Advice on a kit, best place to buy juice and any general tips would be great.

You have some great advice, here is my tu'pence thrown in :)
Something easy to use would be the same starter kit I got and I am still using it, mainly when I go out now...
You get 2 batteries, 2 clearomisers, a bottle of juice (choice in dropdown) and a lanyard with the charger, usb and wall.
It is from Apollo Cigs and if you use the discount ECR69 (from E-cig-reviews website) you get 25% off, just checked and it is still valid :D

Hope this is of some help ;)

Hmm, seems a good deal. I'll see if anyone else recommends anything different otherwise I'll probably go for that. Still not sure on the variable voltage thing (Whether to try and get a kit with VV batteries).

I'm not opposed to buying from fasttech either, just want a kit with a couple of batteries and some clearomizers etc. so that I can then buy some liquid and she'll be good to go in terms of vaping and charging.

Totally agree with you, but if your Mum is used to normal cigarettes going to a VV mod might be too big a change.

As an 'older' woman myself if I had got something like a Vamo at the very beginning I would not have stopped smoking as quickly as I did.
And the habit of reaching for the lighter and packet can quickly be countered if the e-cig is on a lanyard, either protected in a handbag, pocket or around the neck does help.
The smaller setup is what I use 'out and about' I never take any of my larger pieces out of the house :D
The other thing I would say, if you can get a great deal from Fasttech or another Chinese vendor brilliant.
However, consider if anything goes wrong, time it would take to return etc, a UK vendor would offer shorter turnaround and security, particularly for a new user ;)

I have a couple of orders on the way from fasttech, including an ego twist, more Evods, a protank and a mountain of other stuff.

I'm vaping away happily on 900 and 1100mah batteries, and they work great with the evod at 1.8 and 2.4ohm. I just had some trouble with some CE4s (low vapour) and people better informed than I thought it might've been because the resistance was too high for the battery. However, even higher ohm on Evod vape just fine without VV.

I'm not saying don't get a twist or other VV but, from my own experience, I wouldn't say it has to be a deal-breaker for a first kit.

I had similar feelings about the VV above - the pen style are more discreet, easier to carry and feel a little more like having a ciggie in your hand.
