Looking to start squonking

Another one to look at would be the wismec luxotic bf kit. I purchased it with the tobinho for around 35 as my first squonker. It has some protection i believe so not unregulated. I couldnt get along with the tobinho rda so order a wasp nano and its been my go to setup for a few months now. Ive recently ordered a new mod and manta rta to try out but both have remained in theor boxes still as im enjoying my wismec so much i cba to set the manta up for now

I carry my rage around all day, its not that big it just weighs a bit, sans belt is not and option, but the all day battery life and juice capacity makes it worthwhile if you can't be bothered carrying batts and juice around .

Sat on the fence about unregulated devices honestly, however I have seen majority of squonkers are unregulated.

Squonk buyers often look for small carry device - regulation adds cost, weight and size. Some of my squonkers are only barely bigger than two 18650 batteries side by side.

Regulated devices are more the realm of China or very high end just because of the size / cost - I suppose.

+1 on the coilology coils if you want Clapton’s etc. I have two packs and like them in my regulated devices.

When I build in an unregulated I tend to use round wire or flatwire ni80 and coil myself. Less wire mass is better.

18650 Luxotic with silicone bottle is great - small and good looking with basic battery protection. I have two and use them.

I hesitate recommending just because of the leaking issues into the chip I have seen reported, but haven’t experienced myself. If it does leak it can be bad shorting battery etc. I take batteries out of mine when not using now (should do with everything but I don’t).

Just sat on the fence about the unregulated mods tbh. Dont want that sucker going boom. I know the calculations to ensure safe use but I'd be more confident having used an unregulated device beforehand. But I fully.understand what you mean about the size of the mod being bigger when it comes to regulated.

But I fully.understand what you mean about the size of the mod being bigger when it comes to regulated.

Definitely look at the rsq then - not perfect but for me it is the right size while still being regulated. It also can be had cheap from here and China.
