Although I have been an avid vaper for the past couple of years I just cannot work out why Mech mods are as popular as they are?

Can someone please explain to me the benefit of Mechanical Mods? I can get my head around mods like the Sigelei boxes because of the VV/VW but I cant understand why mechanicals are so popular.

I feel as if I'm going to upset a few people here, and that isn't my intention I would just like someone to explain the benefits to a relative novice.

Thanks :)

As a sidenote, I am currently using an iStick 50W with the Subtank mini and although i did go down the rebuilding route for a few months, I don't really have the time to stick with it right now.

Well !!!! It isn't strictly all about practicalities.

If you wound the clock back 1 year from now there were very few vw devices available & those that were, were pretty pricey or seemed to be & they we're also a bit hit & miss with a few flaws. Most people who had tried lighter gear had progressed to a mechanical mod, including me. I used mechs & nothing else for ages, swore they were the only way for me & then along came a bunch of cheaper vw devices & they became widely available. I tried one & got hooked straight away because of the battery life Vs my single 18650 & because of the consistent vape right down to the last toke.

Thing is, even though that is true a mech is still a different animal & if you ommit the clones, the original mods are from an artistic culture & so are the rebuildable attys that go with them, all that gets lost in the clone world & it becomes about wallet sizes instead. if you ever get a well made genuine mech mod & a deserving atty to go on the top you'll know what it's about.

Coincidentally i have just bought a dual 18650 mech mod, my first dual mech & i'm hoping it will put my vw on the shelf....Time will tell. Suffice to say that i'm more buzzed about getting that than any cheap vw i have tried so far.
mechs are wicked & even though i boxed mine because the voltage drop was a bit of a pain compared to my cheap vw box, i still prefer the feel & look of a proper solid bit of kit.

It's an interesting subject now because mechs have recieved some dismissal in recent times but no matter what, they are still the workhorse of mods.

I love vv/vw and mech mods. Love swapping back and forth between them. At the moment im using a stingray x mech. Got my istick 50w on charge and will use that tomorrow

I have one of these in the post..

I have no idea whether i made a good choice or a bad one but in theory, if it isn't flawed in some unspeakable way, it should be my lounge mod for evenings. I don't even cloud chase, i just wanted a dual 18650 mech. All my drippers are tiny too so they'll look hilarious on this. maybe time to go back to 22mm attys. ;) Oh god, it could be a bad idea this !

I can't make up my mind, I'd need to hold it to get an idea.

I wanted the black osmium but no uk vendors had 'em & i looked at this loads of times before i pulled the trigger. Looked on Midlands vaping today & they have the osmium in their clearance ! The irony of life ! Anyway, at 100mm tall i'm cool with this but i dunno if the switch assembly comes apart or not. Hardly any info on this one, just snippets here & there.
I figure that it must be ok, i just created some self made logic & used that as an excuse to buy it :D
