I have a purge rampage mech, I've just made a set of coils reading at 0.067 to 0.070. I was wondering if it would be safe to vape on a 20700 single battery

Find out what Amps it's going to pull & whether your battery is suitable.

At up to 62amps I would say NO. I've done it, taking shortish toots, and leaving long gaps to let the battery recover, but as far as I know there aren't any batteries capable of it for safe sustained use.

So if I were to not chain vape it should be alright for the meantime? I have no other coils readily available :(

As I said, it can be done, but it isn't safe. It won't do your batteries any good, and shorten their lifespan, plus you increase the risk they'll blow. If 200+w is really your thing, then 2 batteries at the very least is recommended.

Any scope to just use one coil as an interim?

I would say it's far more than not chain vaping...

A decent 20700 is what, 30A rated? Maybe 40A at a push?

You're doubling what is considered a heavy draw by the manufacturer.

Personally, I wouldn't be looking at overloading to that extent for any more than a couple of seconds at a time, with 30-60 seconds between activations.

And I'd have the IR thermometer in my other hand to monitor the cell.

And I'd be near an open door so I could sling it down the garden if it got toasty ;)

It's obviously entirely up to you whether you do it or not - but I wouldn't even consider it on a single cell...

I would like to think of myself as an experienced vaper. And I am quite partial to a vape on a mech. I wouldn't even stand within 50ft of anyone pushing their batteries that hard.

Simple answer......NO!!!

As Yoda said can you get away with just using 1 coil till you can get some more?
