Miffed at fasttech

I order quite a few bits from china (watch replacement parts, dials, hands, bezels, and lately, watch movt's) and have never really had a problem....and i must order 3 or 4 times a month for the past 4 or 5 years. I checked on the shipping address that fasttech ship from, and its the same complex that my watch guy works from so im thinking of emailing him and seeing if he'll do the posting for me......ive never had to wait more then 7 days for any watch part, and thats from small packages weighing under 200 grms to 1kg parcels.......

I used to work as a Customs Officer at a receiving centre here in the UK. Yeah, it sounds more glamorous than reality. Anyway, it wasn't unknown for us to have shipments hanging about waiting to be cleared for one or two weeks or even longer in some cases. Expeditiousness is not 'company policy' at HMRC. Remember, packages have not 'landed' until they have passed through Customs. So, all these packages that spend days, if not weeks, in the air, are probably sat in some nondescript warehouse awaiting clearance from some prat in a Hi-Vis vest. Yeah, I once was that prat...
