Mod, Semi mod etc ?

Hi,

Can someone explain in real beginner terms of the differences between a mod, semi mod etc ? I see some units have variable wattage while others don't, some use a single cell and some can take two.

Trying to explain/understand the words and terms vapers use is almost impossible.... 'Mod' is short for 'modified' .... which makes no sense today, without a massive history lesson.

it comes from a time when people would modify a torch or some other battery device for the purpose of vaping.

It is not. But the term comes from the origins with modified devices. i think that is easy to understand.
Perhaps not though if I am having to expand on my original post.
