It says her thumb was injured from the button somehow. Either it's the dual 18650 or she has some fucked up way of holding a mech.

You are quite right. Wish we had more info on the mod. I still blame user error. Batteries will only vent if used incorrectly or are cheap shit fakes.

Everyone who tries my mechs fires them weird the first few times. They hold it in one hand and fire with another finger. It still doesn't mean it was definitely the dual 18650 box version.

It could have been as simple as her having a small tear in the battery wrap and it hard shorted.

80% She's just an idiot who does not know how to properly use a mechanical mod. Mechanical mods if used properly are no more dangerous than a flashlight. I've done my research before venturing into my mechs. This... "person" clearly hasn't. It's just trying to sensationalise its mishap.

Also, was just at FT, seems like the cheap 1*18650 tugboat starter kit has a hybrid top cap. It's likely she screwed up and shorted.

Judging from the report that the "Mouthpiece" blew out into her eye then I'd say it had to be a Hybrid mech mod - and most likely the battery vented due to shorting from the atomiser...
