More EFEST battery woes...

Judging from the report that the "Mouthpiece" blew out into her eye then I'd say it had to be a Hybrid mech mod - and most likely the battery vented due to shorting from the atomiser...

Exactly. Looked up FT and tugboat mods were hybrids.
Basically this is a case of an ignoramus sticking a pair of scissors into the power sockets and going to the news and demanding an explanation from the electric company,

I want to ask a really stupid question...

Providing you use the right/authentic batteries (25r, 30Q etc) and install them the right way up, how likely is it to have a similar issue with a regulated mod (eg vtc mini)?

Not a stupid question.

Not as likely because most regulated mods have built in protection. However, you still should be mindful of battery safety and amp limits. Safety features can fail and cells can still vent, most of these stories are coming from inexperience and bad practice.

Definitely, that's why I only charge my batteries in a dedicated charger (xtar vc2) and never leave them to overcharge or charge overnight.

Regardless, I'm still very concerned.

I was just wondering if there have been any reports of regulating mods exploding? Every report I've seen is associated with a mech. Something, I personally, won't go near.

Wow not good.

May be I should put more trust in the Chinese, however, the fact that most of this stuff is made abroad and they're exempt of many rules and regulations does raise concerns.

Look around you, what phone do you use? Where are nearly all batteries made, look at the rest of the electronic devices around your house where is over 90 percent of it made? There's potential danger in all electronic devices.

Very true, very true.

My son's iphone charger (GENUINE APPLE) caught fire the other day - what should I do - petition for a ban of all charging equipment for iphones until they're regulated - oh wait they are already - this one must have just failed then - funny - had it been on all night charging it could have burnt the house down.. Good job I make sure all my kids never leave anything charging overnight -- at all

good job everyone else in the word does the same - oh wait they don't do they?
